This is an open access book. The Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM), Multimedia University will hold the 3rd International Conference on Creative Multimedia 2023 (ICCM2023) on 26–28 July 2023 (Virtual Conference). ICCM2023 invites prospective authors to take part by submitting research papers in pursuing the vibrant discourse of creative multimedia. ICCM2023 aims to bring together related research scholars, educators, practitioners, policymakers, enthusiasts, fellow students, and design entrepreneurs from various perspectives, disciplines, and fields to share and exchange their research experiences and results on all aspects of arts, design, and creative media technologies. ICCM2023 embraces possibilities, provides an interdisciplinary forum for all stakeholders to present and discuss current trends, innovations, and concerns, as well as practical issues and solutions in the field of creative multimedia. We welcome high-quality research contributions dealing with original and unpublished results on fundamental, conceptual, empirical and experimental work in all areas of arts, design and creative media technologies.

This is the very first book on the highly promising topic of MXenes; focusing on their fundamental characteristics and properties, fabrication techniques and applications. MXenes are two-dimensional materials consisting of few atoms thick layers of transition metal carbides or nitrides. These are characterized by high electrical conductivity, good hydrophilicity, chemical stability, and ultrathin 2D sheet-like morphology. Applications in the energy, environmental, biomedical and electronic industries include catalysis, membrane separation, supercapacitors, hybrid-ion capacitors, batteries, flexible electronics, hydrogen storage, nanoelectronics, and sensors.

Investigations of what increasing digital connectivity and the digitalization of the economy mean for people and places at the world's economic margins. Within the last decade, more than one billion people became new Internet users. Once, digital connectivity was confined to economically prosperous parts of the world; now Internet users make up a majority of the world's population. In this book, contributors from a range of disciplines and locations investigate the impact of increased digital connectivity on people and places at the world's economic margins. Does the advent of a digitalized economy mean that those in economic peripheries can transcend spatial, organizational, social, and political constraints—or do digital tools and techniques tend to reinforce existing inequalities? This book provides a holistic, interdisciplinary overview of offshore wind energy, and is a must-read for advanced researchers. Topics, from the design and analysis of future turbines, to the decommissioning of wind farms, are covered. The scope of the work ranges from analytical, numerical and experimental advancements in structural and fluid mechanics, to novel developments in risk, safety & reliability engineering for offshore wind.The core objective of the current work is to make offshore wind energy more competitive, by improving the reliability, and operations and maintenance (O&M) strategies of wind turbines. The research was carried out under the auspices of the EU-funded project, MARE-WINT. The project provided a unique opportunity for a group of researchers to work closely together, undergo multidisciplinary doctoral training, and conduct research in the area of offshore wind energy generation. Contributions from expert, external authors are also included, and the complete work seeks to bridge the gap between research and a rapidly-evolving industry.
