The Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM), Multimedia University will hold the 3rd International Conference on Creative Multimedia 2023 (ICCM2023) on 26–28 July 2023 (Virtual Conference). ICCM2023 invites prospective authors to take part by submitting research papers in pursuing the vibrant discourse of creative multimedia. ICCM2023 aims to bring together related research scholars, educators, practitioners, policymakers, enthusiasts, fellow students, and design entrepreneurs from various perspectives, disciplines, and fields to share and exchange their research experiences and results on all aspects of arts, design, and creative media technologies. ICCM2023 embraces possibilities, provides an interdisciplinary forum for all stakeholders to present and discuss current trends, innovations, and concerns, as well as practical issues and solutions in the field of creative multimedia. This is the very first book on the highly promising topic of MXenes; focusing on their fundamental characteristics and properties, fabrication techniques and applications. MXenes are two-dimensional materials consisting of few atoms thick layers of transition metal carbides or nitrides. These are characterized by high electrical conductivity, good hydrophilicity, chemical stability, and ultrathin 2D sheet-like morphology. Applications in the energy, environmental, biomedical and electronic industries include catalysis, membrane separation, supercapacitors, hybrid-ion capacitors, batteries, flexible electronics, hydrogen storage, nanoelectronics, and sensors.

This open access book presents established methods of structural health monitoring (SHM) and discusses their technological merit in the current aerospace environment. While the aerospace industry aims for weight reduction to improve fuel efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and to decrease maintenance time and operating costs, aircraft structures are often designed and built heavier than required in order to accommodate unpredictable failure. A way to overcome this approach is the use of SHM systems to detect the presence of defects. This book covers all major contemporary aerospace-relevant SHM methods, from the basics of each method to the various defect types that SHM is required to detect to discussion of signal processing developments alongside considerations of aerospace safety requirements. It will be of interest to professionals in industry and academic researchers alike, as well as engineering students. The evaluation of reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH) by the Disease Control Priorities, Third Edition (DCP3) focuses on maternal conditions, childhood illness, and malnutrition. Specifically, the chapters address acute illness and undernutrition in children, principally under age 5. It also covers maternal mortality, morbidity, stillbirth, and influences to pregnancy and pre-pregnancy. Volume 3 focuses on developments since the publication of DCP2 and will also include the transition to older childhood, in particular, the overlap and commonality with the child development volume. The DCP3 evaluation of these conditions produced three key findings: 1. There is significant difficulty in measuring the burden of key conditions such as unintended pregnancy, unsafe abortion, nonsexually transmitted infections, infertility, and violence against women. 2. Investments in the continuum of care can have significant returns for improved and equitable access, health, poverty, and health systems. 3. There is a large difference in how RMNCH conditions affect different income groups; investments in RMNCH can lessen the disparity in terms of both health and financial risk.

Investigations of what increasing digital connectivity and the digitalization of the economy mean for people and places at the world's economic margins. Within the last decade, more than one billion people became new Internet users. Once, digital connectivity was confined to economically prosperous parts of the world; now Internet users make up a majority of the world's population. In this book, contributors from a range of disciplines and locations investigate the impact of increased digital connectivity on people and places at the world's economic margins. Does the advent of a digitalized economy mean that those in economic peripheries can transcend spatial, organizational, social, and political constraints—or do digital tools and techniques tend to reinforce existing inequalities? The contributors present a diverse set of case studies, reporting on digitalization in countries ranging from Chile to Kenya to the Philippines, and develop a broad range of theoretical positions. They consider, among other things, data-driven disintermediation, women's economic empowerment and gendered power relations, digital humanitarianism and philanthropic capitalism, the spread of innovation hubs, and two cases of the reversal of core and periphery in digital innovation.
