The 3rd International Conference on Intelligent and Interactive Computing 2021 (IIC 2021) was held virtually at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Melaka, Malaysia, on 9 September 2021. The event was jointly organized by the Department of Interactive Media and Department of Intelligent Computing and Analytics, Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), with the theme ‘Empowering the World with Intelligent and Immersive Computing towards Smart Solutions’. This open access e-proceedings contains a compilation of 38 selected papers from the IIC 2021. The technical committees received a great response for submissions from various area including computational intelligence, data analytics, robotics and automation, multimedia and immersive technologies, education 4.0 and others. We hope that this proceeding will serve as a valuable reference for researchers. The event has achieved its aim which is to gather academic scholars and industry practitioners to share valuable knowledge and expertise in related disciplines. Moreover, it is hoped that this conference has opened up opportunities to explore recent advancements and challenges on selected research discipline. As the editors-in-chief, we are grateful and would like to convey our sincerest gratitude to the fellow review members for their effort in reviewing the submitted papers for this proceeding. This book is a collection of papers presented at the International Conference on Intelligent Computing, Information and Control Systems (ICICCS 2021). It encompasses various research works that help to develop and advance the next-generation intelligent computing and control systems. The book integrates the computational intelligence and intelligent control systems to provide a powerful methodology for a wide range of data analytics issues in industries and societal applications. The book also presents the new algorithms and methodologies for promoting advances in common intelligent computing and control methodologies including evolutionary computation, artificial life, virtual infrastructures, fuzzy logic, artificial immune systems, neural networks and various neuro-hybrid methodologies. This volume constitutes selected papers presented at the Third International Conference on Computing and Data Science, CONF-CDS 2021, held online in August 2021. The 22 full papers 9 short papers presented in this volume were thoroughly reviewed and selected from the 85 qualified submissions. They are organized in topical sections on advances in deep learning; algorithms in machine learning and statistics; advances in natural language processing.

Intelligent environments (IE) combine physical spaces with ICT and pervasive technology to improve a user’s awareness of their surroundings, empower them to carry out tasks, enrich their experience, and enhance their ability to manage such environments. A growing community, from academia to practitioners, is working to bring intelligent environments to life. This work is driven by the innovative ideas and technological progress that are making the sensors and computing devices required for intelligent environments more affordable and energy-efficient. This book presents papers from Workshops held during the 17th International Conference on Intelligent Environments, IE2021. The conference was due to take place in Dubai, UAE, but was held as a virtual event from 21 to 24 June 2021 due to the restrictions associated with the Covid-19 pandemic. Included here are the proceedings of the 10th International Workshop on the Reliability of Intelligent Environments (WoRIE’21), the 3rd International Workshop on Intelligent Environments and Buildings (IEB’21), the 1st International Workshop on Self-Learning in Intelligent Environments (SeLIE’21), and the 1st International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Emerging Topics (ALLEGET’21). The contributions to these workshops reflect the multi-disciplinary and transversal aspects of intelligent environments, and cover the latest research and development in intelligent environments and related areas, focusing on pushing the boundaries and contributing to the establishment of intelligent environments in the real world. Offering a state-of-the-art overview of current progress, the book will be of particular interest to all those working in the field of intelligent environments.

This book is a comprehensive collection of chapters focusing on the core areas of computing and their further applications in the real world. Each chapter is a paper presented at the Computing Conference 2021 held on 15-16 July 2021. Computing 2021 attracted a total of 638 submissions which underwent a double-blind peer review process. Of those 638 submissions, 235 submissions have been selected to be included in this book. The goal of this conference is to give a platform to researchers with fundamental contributions and to be a premier venue for academic and industry practitioners to share new ideas and development experiences. We hope that readers find this volume interesting and valuable as it provides the state-of-the-art intelligent methods and techniques for solving real-world problems.
