This is an open access book.We would like to welcome you to the official website of the 8th International Conference on Communication and Media 2022 (i-COME’22). This biennial event is organized by the Department of Communication, School of Multimedia Technology and Communication, Universiti Utara Malaysia and will be held on 1 – 3 October 2022, virtually. The conference provides an opportunity to researchers, practitioners and students to interact and share their experience and knowledge in communication and media. I-COME’22 provides an excellent international platform for knowledge sharing in the areas of communication and media, as well as providing an ideal environment for new collaborations and meeting scholars and experts in the areas of communication and media. I-COME’22 welcomes participants from all over the world who are interested in communication and media, especially how globalization and current situation affects the future landscape of the fields. The aim of the conference is to provide platform for scholars, researchers and practitioners from both academia and industry to meet and share the advanced development and changes in both areas. The conference also hopes to discuss the innovative discovery of research level and promote international scientific cooperation and exchange of ideas among researchers and practitioners. Our conference relies on a wide range of challenges and issues in the fields of communication and media which will be presented through keynote addresses, plenary sessions, presentations by distinguished scholars and practitioners, and doctoral colloquium which is specially designed for post graduate students to share their experiences. The highlight of the conference will be the award presentation during the closing ceremony which will be given as recognition to the outstanding work of the selected researchers.

This book features selected papers from the International Conference on Communication and Applied Technologies (ICOMTA 2022), jointly organized by the Universidad del Rosario (Bogotá, Colombia) and the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana (Cuenca, Ecuador), and as collaborators at the University of Vigo (Galicia, Spain), the University of Santiago de Compostela-Political Research Team (Galicia, Spain), and the Network of Communication Researchers of Ecuador (RICE), during August, 31–September 2, 2022. It covers recent advances in the field of digital communication and processes, digital social media, software, big data, data mining, and intelligent systems.

This book constitutes the refereed post-conference proceedings of the 13th EAI International Conference on Broadband Communications, Networks, and Systems, Broadnets 2022, which took place in March 2023. Due to COVID-19 pandemic the conference was held virtually. The 9 full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 23 submissions. The papers are thematically grouped as follows: Mobile Communication Networks; Mobile Software Security; and Algorithm, Model and Application. The scope of this conference is the 5G-enabled digital society.

The 51 full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 101 submissions. The conference focused on 6 tracks: Modeling and Simulation, Mixed Reality and HCI, Systems Integration and IoT, Cybersecurity, Energy Informatics and Intelligent Data Analytics.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Well-Being in the Information Society, WIS 2022, held in Turku, Finland, in August 2022. The 14 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 17 submissions. The proceedings are structured in four sections as follows: ​mental well-being and e-health; social media and well-being; innovative solution for well-being in the information society; driving well-being in the information society.

This book constitutes the refereed post-conference proceedings of the First International Conference on Pervasive Knowledge and Collective Intelligence on Web and Social Media, PerSOM 2022, which was held in Messina, Italy, in November 2022. The 9 full papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 35 submissions and present findings of research from the fields of pervasive computing, web, and social media to promote ideas and practices about pervasive knowledge and collective intelligence in this fields. The conference targeted a wide variety of topics including new perspectives in social theories, complex networks, data science, knowledge management, web and social media.

The main aim of the book is to familiarize readers with the concepts of convergence of different connected and smart domains that are assisted by Cloud Computing, core technologies behind Cloud Computing, driving factors towards Cloud Computing, and security challenges and proposed solutions in Cloud Computing. The book covers not only the cloud, but also other pertinent topics such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, IoT and Fog/Edge Computing. The last section of the book mainly focuses on the security aspects of connected technologies.
