WITH 15 PHOTOS Chris Dorner was a cop with the LAPD who was fired after reporting that his training officer beat up a handcuffed, non-resisting suspect. He appealed. Lost. Then snapped. In his manifesto that he posted on Facebook, he vowed to kill those associated with him being fired as well as their families. His first victims were the daughter of the LAPD lawyer who represented him and her fiance. This recent case from 2013 includes several pictures, some of which are quite graphic, including the all-out manhunt for Dorner and his controversial death. Did the LAPD blow the whole scenario way out of proportion. Keeping in mind the fact that the LAPD is one of the most militarized police forces in America, one man's attempts to clear his name should not have sent the whole LAPD into the frenzy that it went into after Dorner's manifesto and statement came to light. Los Angeles has its share of some of the world's most ruthless and well-armed crime rings. These include, The Crips, Bloods, Mexican Mafia, Yakuza, Armenian Mob,Aryan Brotherhood, Skinheads, and Russian mobs as well as the local drug cartels. These gangs are not only real, they are openly hostile towards the LAPD and have killed numerous police officers on numerous occasions. Some of these gangs have even murdered entire families with the LAPD unable to catch them. Yet when an ex-cop, wanting to clear his name, tried to speak out against the LAPD, the police goes all out, 'balls to the wall', and embarked on one of the most organized and widespread manhunts in recent history. Additionally, newer reports regarding Monica Quan have arisen that render an even greater air of speculation to the whole ordeal. Monica Quan and her fiancé, both with law enforcement backgrounds, were found in a car that was parked in a parking garage in a million-dollar predominantly white neighborhood. The parking garage was being guarded by a police officer who did not see Dorner, a large black man, break in. The garages are monitored 24/7 and yet there is no footage of Dorner either breaking in, killing anyone, being there or leaving. Nothing. But that's what the LAPD wants people to believe.

Today's radical Islamist terrorist could be just a breath away from you now: a fellow student, a fellow employee or even the soldier in the next bunk. Americans today are facing an alarming new terrorist threat: 'self-radicalized' terrorists. Unlike previous 'sleepers' like the 9/11 hijackers who infiltrated the United States from abroad, this new breed of 'self-radicalized' terrorists come from within. Many are natural born Americans or immigrants to the U.S. who over time 'self-radicalized' themselves through radical Islamist internet propaganda and undertook terrorist action on their own initiative with little or no guidance from overseas terrorist groups. Unpredictable and often disguised in their previous identity as loyal American university students, government employees, or even members of the US military, this new 'franchise style' of terrorist is difficult to detect. RJ Parker documents in a single volume some of the prominent and frightening recent cases of self-radicalized terrorist strikes in the United States. This book provides a review of: Introduction by Dr. Peter Vronsky - "Why They Hate Us: A Politically Incorrect History of Global Islamist Terrorism"San Bernardino Shootings in California The Boston Marathon Bombings Fort Hood Shootings Sniper Attacks in Washington, D.C Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Attack, Canada Parliament Hill Shooting, Canada Radicalization Islam versus the West Islamic Terrorism Influence of ISIS Self-Radicalization Recruiting through Social Media WARNING: SOME PHOTOS ARE GRAPHIC

With 14 chapters contributed by former law enforcement, researchers, and mental health professionals, it addresses national, state, and local policy implications and strategies, presenting a theory for better understanding and preventing the phenomenon of officer suicide. Serial Killers are hunters that prey upon fellow people. It is not uncommon for them to torture and rape their victims. They are sex offenders, rapists, child molesters, and some are even cannibals. They thrive on their victim's showing of fear which makes them feel the power of dominance and control. This is the second book in the 'Notorious Serial Killers' series. This volume features three male and three female serial homicide cases. INCLUDES PHOTOS Included in this volume: Between 1972 and 1978, John Wayne Gacy killed at least thirty-three boys and men in Illinois, of which twenty-six bodies/skeletons were buried in the crawl space under his house. At the age of twenty-three, Barry Brooks was saved after accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Shortly thereafter, the Lord called Barry from a quiet, small town in New England to South Central Los Angeles and the LAPD. As many deadly threats faced Barry on a daily basis on the streets of Los Angeles during the crack wars of the late 1980s and 1990s, his biggest battle would come not from the dangers of the street but from within the ranks of the LAPD. After exposing systematic corruption leading all the way up to the chief of police and city officials, Barry would endure a seventeen-year battle of retaliation which came very close to costing him his life, his liberty (prison) and certainly his career. However, God manifested Himself in overt and incredible ways during this time of trial giving Barry the strength to resist and at the same time grow in his faith. Although Barry's story reveals the sin of the LAPD's thin blue line, the main purpose of this book as revealed by God to Barry is simply to Glorify God.

Between 1989 and 2006, there were 5,226 homicides in Australia. Serial homicides account for 1% of this astonishing number of murders that were committed by 13 known offenders. In this 3rd volume of Serial Homicide, the following cases are discussed: On their way to Sydney for a festival, British backpackers Joanne Walters and Caroline Clarke suddenly disappeared. Their bodies were the first of many to be discovered buried in Belango State Forest. Joanne was stabbed 35 times while Caroline was shot in the head 10 times. Seemingly unstoppable, The Backpacker Killer, Ivan Milat, went on to kill between 7 and 12 people. Known as The Moorhouse Murders, David and Catherine Birnie cruised the streets to abduct young women and bring them to their house. There they raped, tortured, and killed them without mercy. The Snowtown Murders, aka Bodies-in-barrels murders, were committed by four serial killers who targeted homosexuals brutally killing 12 people before they were stopped. Arnold Sodeman, the School-girl Killer, lured young girls between the ages of 6 and 16 with money and ice cream. None of his four victims made it home from the play ground or schools. Eric Edgar Cooke, the Night Caller, terrorized one community for four years where he killed a dozen people. His acts were so depraved it's questionable whether Cooke was even human. One victim was strangled to death with the cord from a bedside lamp, after which Cooke he raped the corpse, dragged it to a neighbor's lawn, then sexually penetrated it with an empty whiskey bottle. Lindsay Robert Rose is an Australian serial killer and contract killer from New South Wales, currently serving five consecutive sentences of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for the murder of 5 people between 1984 and 1994.

Introduction to Criminology, Why Do They Do It?, Second Edition, by Pamela J. Schram Stephen G. Tibbetts, offers a contemporary and integrated discussion of the key theories that help us understand crime in the 21st century. With a focus on why offenders commit crimes, this bestseller skillfully engages students with real-world cases and examples to help students explore the fundamentals of criminology. To better align with how instructors actually teach this course, coverage of violent and property crimes has been integrated into the theory chapters, so students can clearly understand the application of theory to criminal behavior. Unlike other introductory criminology textbooks, the Second Edition discusses issues of diversity in each chapter and covers many contemporary topics that are not well represented in other texts, such as feminist criminology, cybercrime, hate crimes, white-collar crime, homeland security, and identity theft. Transnational comparisons regarding crime rates and the methods other countries use to deal with crime make this edition the most universal to date and a perfect companion for those wanting to learn about criminology in context.
