ROYAL SAVAGE I CAN'T CLOSE MY EYES... I refuse to. Every time I do, all I see is blood, death, and pain. I can feel it - almost taste it, bringing me back to that night. It doesn't matter that I'm still breathing; I no longer need it, I no longer want it. I despise it along with everything else around me. The only thing I long for is to fade away. I've given up. Until her at least... AVALON. She comes into my world, knocking me on my a@s. It turns me on to have her around me. Makes me want to wrap my hand around her tight little throat and fu@k her until she feels my pain, feels the monster in me, but also makes me want to protect her from the very thing that she should be afraid of... me. Once she sees the damage that I'm capable of; she'll look at me like everyone else around me does: with fear. AVALON KNIGHT HIS EYES... THE DARKNESS IN them draws me to him, making me want to taste him, feel him... and save him. I shouldn't have gotten on the back of his motorcycle that day. I know that now. Colton warned me. I was told it was dangerous. I was told that nothing would be the same. He was right. ROYAL is dangerous, dark, and seductive; the very thing that keeps me hanging on, willing to give my last breath just to touch him... breathe him in. He's savage, inked, and highly captivating. So different from his brother... He's hazardous to my health, mind, and body, yet the only thing that I crave. I want to free him. I want to change his mind, but I'm afraid that he's already too faded...

"In this work, archaeologist John Bratten details the gunboat's history, construction, armament, tools, utensils, personal items, and rigging elements. He takes advantage of contemporary records to describe the Philadelphia's artifacts and presents for the first time an analysis of photographs taken during the 1935 recovery of the boat. Finally, he assesses the replica Philadelphia II, built at the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum during 1989-91 in order to provide an opportunity to evaluate how the gondola was constructed, manned, sailed, and propelled by sweeps."--Jacket.

New Life for Archaeological Collections explores solutions to what archaeologists are calling the “curation crisis,” that is, too much stuff with too little research, analysis, and public interpretation. This volume demonstrates how archaeologists are taking both large and small steps toward not only solving the dilemma of storage but recognizing the value of these collections through inventorying and cataloging, curation, rehousing, artifact conservation, volunteer and student efforts, and public exhibits. Essays in this volume highlight new questions and innovative uses for existing archaeological collections. Rebecca Allen and Ben Ford advance ways to make the evaluation and documentation of these collections more accessible to those inside and outside of the scholarly discipline of archaeology. Contributors to New Life for Archaeological Collections introduce readers to their research while opening new perspectives for scientists and students alike to explore the world of archaeology. These essays illuminate new connections between cultural studies and the general availability of archaeological research and information. Drawing from the experience of university professors, government agency professionals, and cultural resource managers, this volume represents a unique commentary on education, research, and the archaeological community.

When Candace Savage and her partner buy a house in the romantic little town of Eastend, she has no idea what awaits her. At first she enjoys exploring the area around their new home, including the boyhood haunts of the celebrated American writer Wallace Stegner, the backroads of the Cypress Hills, the dinosaur skeletons at the T. Rex Discovery Centre, the fossils to be found in the dust-dry hills. She also revels in her encounters with the wild inhabitants of this mysterious land -- two coyotes in a ditch at night, their eyes glinting in the dark; a deer at the window; a cougar pussy-footing it through a gully a few minutes' walk from town. But as Savage explores further, she uncovers a darker reality -- a story of cruelty and survival set in the still-recent past -- and finds that she must reassess the story she grew up with as the daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter of prairie homesteaders.

Plattsburgh was founded in 1784 by Zephaniah Platt, a native of Poughkeepsie in Dutchess County. This city on the shores of Lake Champlain has been of military and commercial importance for more than 200 years. Plattsburgh's waterways provided access to the St. Lawrence Seaway and Canada to the north and the Hudson Valley to the south. This location served to make the American victory at the Battle of Plattsburgh in 1814 critical to the young nation's independence and allowed commerce to flourish during the 19th century. In addition to a military history that spans from the Revolutionary War to the Cold War, Plattsburgh has a cultural history that includes serving as Pres. William McKinley's summer White House and hosting the Catholic Summer School of America. Notables and philanthropists, such as William H. Miner and Smith M. Weed, further developed Plattsburgh by promoting the railroad and mining industries and working toward the creation of Physician's Hospital and Plattsburgh Normal School.

ESSENCE of an IDEALIST ESSENCE, From the French word, esse, to be. To exist. If we exist we have essence. When we exist we have choices to make from the very moment we recognize our own existence. This book is about a person who chose to be an idealist, a person who set goals for himself at a very early age and achieved most of them without the need for money. Do not think it is easy to be an idealist? Certainly not in my case, those around you continually remind you to be more practical and advise you, that your goals are neither realistic nor pragmatic. Do idealists fail? Of course they do and some quit to blend in with everyone else. Others recognize their own failure, change direction and try again, and again until they succeed. This book is true account of the author's quest to find his purpose in life. A quest that contains so many failures and so many successes that one questions the trials of an idealist. We tend to categorize idealists as crazy Don Quixote types, charging at windmills to protect the chastity of his Dulcinea. When in fact, the true romantic recognizes, that both author, Cervantes and Don Quixote, appearing as an old chivalrous knight in rusty armor truly understood the power of love. The idealist in this true story seeks adventure at a very early age and even though he finds it, he never stops seeking more challenging adventures. The same is true for success. Success so often is measured in dollars as so aptly put in Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. By mid-life this author has become a millionaire and questions the materialistic rewards of success. He concludes that the accumulation of dollars and materialism are not the answer to happiness, for that which you own, owns you. Should success then be re-defined.? Perhaps. Success could be defined as happiness and only the happiness, within you. If you are truly happy, you are successful. This quest contains both successes and failures to find a purpose in life. I'm writing this while maturing in age and knowledge, and if my life ends tomorrow it shall be said by my friends that I sought adventure, success, happiness and love and you can judge for yourself whether or not I found it.
