Kashmir Has Been A Land Of Saints, Savants And Sages-Some Belonged To The Buddhist Faith-Some Advocated Shaiva Philosophy, Some Were Sufis And Some Were Saint-Poets. The Volumes Gives A Glimpse Of This Tradition Through An Account Of It Selected Sages From Kashmir And Lead Us To Divinity.

This is about unique history of introduction of Islam in Kashmir, a translation of 150 year old Persian poetry hand written manuscript published first time ever describing strange miracles of saints and also their brief biographies collected from different sources.

This volume in Persian verse is authored by Pirzada Ghulam Rasool Shaiva Zoonimari (d. 1288 AH). He was the father of Historian Hasan Khoihami. Its translation in Urdu was rendered in 2000 AD by late Khwaja Nazir Ahmad Kashtwari (retd. Under Secretary GAD J&K Govt.). Its English translation in verbatim has been attempted by the compiler. The book describes the miracles performed by the Kashmiri saints, most of who belonged to the spiritual lineage of Sultan-ul-Arifin Shaikh Hamza Makhdum Kashmiri (RA)

The book that comprises of three volumes covers a research work of three decades, by way of collection of centuries old handwritten manuscripts mostly in Arabic and Persian languages and getting these translated in to Urdu and now in English.Vol I covers History of Unique way of introduction of Islam in Kashmir, description of fourteen Sufi Orders and those common in Kashmir. Vol. II covers the translation of a 150 year old Persian poetry manuscript that is based on the miraculous acts performed by the saints mentioned therein and Vol. III describes the brief life sketches of these saints and those of their perceptors collected from different available sources.

The book covers a period of the previous about five centuries of Kashmiri saints besides touching some important personalities, preceptors covering past fourteen and half centuries. The foot notes have been added by the compiler at the end of some chapters with descriptions from various historical sources besides photographs. The Quranic verses with artistic calligraphy have been added between some chapters. Also family tree of the author (Shaiva) covering about four centuries has been recorded at the end.
