In 1779, Shawnees from Chillicothe, a community in the Ohio country, told the British, "We have always been the frontier." Their statement challenges an oft-held belief that American Indians derive their unique identities from longstanding ties to native lands. By tracking Shawnee people and migrations from 1400 to 1754, Stephen Warren illustrates how Shawnees made a life for themselves at the crossroads of empires and competing tribes, embracing mobility and often moving willingly toward violent borderlands. By the middle of the eighteenth century, the Shawnees ranged over the eastern half of North America and used their knowledge to foster notions of pan-Indian identity that shaped relations between Native Americans and settlers in the revolutionary era and beyond. Warren's deft analysis makes clear that Shawnees were not anomalous among Native peoples east of the Mississippi. Through migration, they and their neighbors adapted to disease, warfare, and dislocation by interacting with colonizers as slavers, mercenaries, guides, and traders. These adaptations enabled them to preserve their cultural identities and resist coalescence without forsaking their linguistic and religious traditions.

After many decades of life experiences that include living in three continents, Dr. Ashley Ansara has come to the realization that humankind should always be willing to seek knowledge, expand ourselves, be receptive to change, and trust our souls to guide us through this life. In Soul Genetic Code, Dr. Ansara shares a new logical hypothesis created from Egyptian belief systems to explain the dynamics of God’s relationship to humankind, the universal consciousness, and the humankind psychological consciousness (the mind, emotions, and free will to determine one’s destiny) to lead students of life to reconnect to their living souls and become more peaceful, loving, wise, and joyful in the world. Through insights shared to prompt the mind to question, the heart to vibrate, and an energetic movement toward the living soul’s truth, others will learn about energy and medicine; the concept of life essence and soul kinetics; the origin, biology, and DNA of the soul; the living soul in ancient Egypt, and much more. The hypothesis provides compelling evidence to accept the fact that genetic dictate our destiny. Environmental factors only put us where do we want to be but never determine where we end up with through life and the outcome of being alive on this earth. Soul Genetic Code offers an innovative, logical hypothesis derived from Egyptian belief systems to guide others on a journey of self-discovery to find their living soul’s truth and formalize their destiny

Have you ever asked yourself what changed when you were "born again?" You look in the mirror and see the same reflection - your body hasn't changed. You find yourself acting the same and yielding to those same old temptations - that didn't seem to change either. So you wonder, Has anything really changed? The correct answer to that question is foundational for receiving from God. If you lack this basic understanding, you'll forever ask yourself doubt-filled questions like: "How could God love somebody like me?" and "How can I possibly expect to receive anything from the Lord? I don't deserve it, I'm not good enough!" Spirit, Soul, and Body will help you eliminate those and other doubt-filled questions that destroy your faith. If you have trouble receiving from God, this is a must-read!

A wide-ranging collection of fiction, essays, poetry and more by the acclaimed Native American author of Bearheart and Interior Landscapes. Gerald Vizenor is one of our era’s most important and prolific Native American writers. Drawing on the best work of an acclaimed career, Shadow Distance: A Gerald Vizenor Reader reveals the wide range of his imagination and the evolution of his central themes. This compelling collection includes not only selections from Vizenor’s innovative fiction, but also poetry, autobiography, essays, journalism, and the previously unpublished screenplay “Harold of Orange,” winner of the Film-in-the-Cities national screenwriting competition. Whether focusing on Native American tricksters or legal and financial claims of tribal sovereignty, Vizenor continually underscores the diversities of modern traditions, the mixed ethnicity that characterizes those who claim Native American origin, and cultural permeability of an increasingly commercial, global world.
