With the proliferation of citizen reporting, smart mobile devices, and social media, an increasing number of people are beginning to generate information about events they observe and participate in. A significant fraction of this information contains multimedia data to share the experience with their audience. A systematic information modeling and management framework is necessary to capture this widely heterogeneous, schemaless, potentially humongous information produced by many different people. This book is an attempt to examine the modeling, storage, querying, and applications of such an event management system in a holistic manner. It uses a semantic-web style graph-based view of events, and shows how this event model, together with its query facility, can be used toward emerging applications like semi-automated storytelling. Table of Contents: Introduction / Event Data Models / Implementing an Event Data Model / Querying Events / Storytelling with Events / An Emerging Application / Conclusion

Eric Pace "I learned so much from the Train the Trainer workshop. You guys totally ROCK! This workshop really boosted my confidence." Debbie Gutierrez "I am a paid speaker, and this has both validated my work and encouraged me to improve daily. I now have more tools! Everyone needs to find ways to improve. As the 'hired gun, ' you owe it to your audience." Lori A. Hoffner "This is truly amazing! The value you give in Speaker's Edge seriously exceeds the price. This book offers specific steps for speakers to improve their speaking and explains those steps with concrete examples. Buy this book and have your highlighter ready." Yvonne Ortega "Best speaker's guide on the market! The book was an instant hit with me. It is easy to ready and digest the 5 authors suggestions. The book is laid out in a logical order and the tips are right on point. I have used many of them in the last 8 months and had award winning results. If you want to advance your public speaking skills quickly and effectively, this is the book for you! These 'four masters and a princess' deliver insight information that has made them the best at what they do! It can help you too!" Michael Wader "This book is organized around three parts: Platform Presence, Content Excellence, and Winning Techniques. The chapters are short and provide just enough information to help you understand the concept. As much as I enjoy digging into a meaty book, there was something very nice about the short, to-the-point chapters written by these authors. One of my favorite chapters is called "The Daily Debrief." The concept is this: If you improve a little day-by-day, you'll find your way to success. The chapter is short but clear, and is a paradigm for the whole book--you'll either take action or you won't. In the end, this is a great book for speakers, or prospective speakers." Jeremy Hoover "Excellent book. Have just received it and started reading this morning. So many useful tips. I am actually contemplating change of career - thinking of being a public speaker already." Patrick Russell "Each of the Speakers listed on the cover are accomplished speakers with pearls of wisdom for those crafting their skills. I have been told by experienced and accomplished speakers that the information they provide will make me a success also." John Clifford "Loved this book. Each speaker had something very unique and important to contribute." Gayle Belanger, Live Free Ministry "Great book!" Rebeccah Narai
