Sricoenv 2022

The 3rd Sriwijaya International Conference on Environmental Issues (3rd SRICOENV) 2022 was successfully held on OCTOBER 5th, 2022, in Palembang, South Sumatera-Indonesia (virtual conference). The 3rd SRICOENV 2022 created a forum for exchanging ideas and research results, opened new perspectives in related fields and broadened the horizons of all participants. The conference was attended by 350 people from all over the world. The conference was divided into three parts, including keynote lectures, oral presentations and online discussions. First, the keynote speakers had 30-45 minutes to present. Then, in the oral presentations, their authors presented the outstanding papers we selected individually. We are pleased to announce that we have selected many high-quality papers from the submissions and included them in the conference proceedings after a rigorous review. These papers cover all environmental topics to present the state of the art in environmental and climate change issues. All papers have undergone rigorous review to meet the requirements for publication. We would like to thank everyone who supported the 3rd SRICOENV 2022 and made it a great success. In particular, we would like to thank the European Alliance for Innovation (EAI) for the hard work of all their colleagues in publishing this volume. We sincerely hope that the 3rd SRICOENV 2022 was a forum for excellent discussions, enabling new ideas and promoting collaborative research.

This is an open access book. ICOSEAT 2022 was held on July 21–23, 2022 in Bangka Island, one of the wonderful places of Indonesia. Articles in the field of Agroindustry and Appropriate Technology 4.0; Environmental and Mining Engineering; Sustainable Development and Tourism Management; Agriculture and Food Engineering; and Marine, Aquaculture and Biological Science. ICOSEAT provides a forum for Academic, Business and Government to present and discuss topics on recent development in those fields.

This book provides general information and data on one of the most promising renewable energy sources: biomass for its thermochemical conversion. During the last few years, there has been increasing focus on developing the processes and technologies for the conversion of biomass to liquid and gaseous fuels and chemicals, in particular to develop low-cost technologies. Over the last thirty years Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) have been used to deliver transport capital projects and services. PPPs are complex arrangements that require a multi-disciplinary approach in order to assure their success, though research on the subject has been fragmented. This book fills the gap in existing literature by providing insight into these complex arrangements at their various stages of development. Public Private Partnerships in Transport: trends and theory is structured to follow the life-cycle of a PPP project and strikes a balance between theory and practice. Divided into four parts, each section highlights major concerns and offers and array of views and policy recommendations. Parts include context for national implementation, decision models, performance measures and efficiency standards. The most important intellectual in the Federal Republic of Germany for the past three decades, Habermas has been a seminal contributor to fields ranging from sociology and political science to philosophy and cultural studies. Although he has stood at the centre of concern in his native land, he has been less readily accepted outside Germany, particularly in the humanities. His theoretical work postulates the centrality of communication and understanding, and as such his strategy of debate is marked by a politically informed unity of theory and practice. Holub's book is the first detailed account of the major debates in which Habermas has engaged since the early sixties. It stems from the conviction that his critics have not understood the political strategy behind his various interventions, or the consistency that informs his intellectual activities. Habermas is viewed in dialogue with important philosophical, sociological and political currents in West Germany. Holub demonstrates how Habermas pursues a course that incorporates various aspects of his opponents' positions, while simultaneously defending perceived threats to democracy and open discussion.

This book explores the linkages between age-related pension expenditures and the fiscal space needed to fund them, as well as to organize the mix of financing methods with different risk-sharing arrangements. After critically assessing the existing models projecting age-related expenditure in the literature, the book focuses on the case studies of these inter-linkages in four highly-populated East Asian countries, namely China, Indonesia, India, and Japan. Nearly two- fifths of the global population live in these countries. Therefore, how these inter-linkages manifest themselves and the initiatives in these countries for finding fiscal space will have an impact on how the ageing issues are addressed globally. This book does several distinguishing characteristics, including exploration of inter-linkages between age-related expenditure and fiscal space, and application of country-specific methods to explore these linkages, rather than relying standard macroeconomic model. In the process, the studies also bring out the limitations of standardized model used in the literatures.
