Stalking My Mate [Siren Publishing: The Stormy Glenn ManLove Collection: Alternative Contemporary Paranormal Romance, MM, shape-shifter, HEA] Stalker I was stalking my mate and I had good reason. He was bonded to someone else, but that didn't absolve me of my duty to him, or my obsession. Making sure he was happy and safe, even if it wasn't with me, was just something I had to do. When I discovered he wasn't, all bets were off. Jojo I'd given up the dream of a mate in exchange for the life of my son. It was an exchange I willingly gave to have Tommy with me. When our lives were threatened, escaping with Tommy was my only option. I just wasn't sure where we were going to escape to or who could help us, but someone had to. I'd already lost my mate. I couldn't lose my son.

Thomas Mann predicted that no manner or mode in literature would be so typical or so pervasive in the twentieth century as the grotesque. Assuredly he was correct. The subjects and methods of our comic literature (and much of our other literature) are regularly disturbing and often repulsive—no laughing matter. In this ambitious study, John R. Clark seeks to elucidate the major tactics and topics deployed in modern literary dark humor. In Part I he explores the satiric strategies of authors of the grotesque, strategies that undercut conventional usage and form: the de-basement of heroes, the denigration of language and style, the disruption of normative narrative technique, and even the debunking of authors themselves. Part II surveys major recurrent themes of grotesquerie: tedium, scatology, cannibalism, dystopia, and Armageddon or the end of the world. Clearly the literature of the grotesque is obtrusive and ugly, its effect morbid and disquieting—and deliberately meant to be so. Grotesque literature may be unpleasant, but it is patently insightful. Indeed, as Clark shows, all of the strategies and topics employed by this literature stem from age-old and spirited traditions. Critics have complained about this grim satiric literature, asserting that it is dank, cheerless, unsavory, and negative. But such an interpretation is far too simplistic. On the contrary, as Clark demonstrates, such grotesque writing, in its power and its prevalence in the past and present, is in fact conventional, controlled, imaginative, and vigorous—no mean achievements for any body of art.

Malcolm X's blazing, legendary autobiography, completed shortly before his assassination in 1965, depicts a remarkable life: a child born into rage and despair, who turned to street-hustling and cocaine in the Harlem ghetto, followed by prison, where he converted to the Black Muslims and honed the energy and brilliance that made him one of the most important political figures of his time - and an icon in ours. It also charts the spiritual journey that took him beyond militancy, and led to his murder, a powerful story of transformation, redemption and betrayal. Vilified by his critics as an anti-white demagogue, Malcolm X gave a voice to unheard African-Americans, bringing them pride, hope and fearlessness, and remains an inspirational and controversial figure today.

He can't stand omega wolves. So why does touching this one set his heart on fire? Billionaire alpha shifter Jackson Young doesn't like omega wolves. They're weak, submissive, and scheming. He doesn't have time for that kind of man in his life. But when a waiter at one of Jackson's high-powered events spills ice water all over the alpha's tux, he comes face to face with a shifter his wolf immediately claims as mate. Only this "mate" is an omega shifter named Blake Mitchell. As hard as Jackson tries to deny the instant and powerful attraction between them, he soon finds himself pinning the omega to the wall and claiming him with a passionate kiss. That kiss leads to a whole lot of fun...and a whole lot of trouble. After spending a scorching night together, the omega vanishes. Jackson would chalk the whole thing up to a night of no-strings fun, but he struggles to put the shifter out of his mind. Until Blake shows up again much later, very pregnant with Jackson's baby... After an unforgettably sexy night with the handsome billionaire alpha, Blake returns to his old routine of struggling to make ends meet. He figured that after Jackson got what he wanted from him, the wealthy and powerful wolf would vanish back into his glamorous lifestyle, leaving Blake with only memories. That was fine...until he heads to the doctor for flu symptoms and finds out he's pregnant. Now he has no choice but to track Jackson down again. This time Jackson doesn't seem so eager to see him. He must teach this reluctant alpha that omega wolves can be strong too. Because it isn't only desire that heats their blood and melts their hearts. It's something even deeper. (Piano Solo Songbook). "I think there is a similarity between the infinite big and the infinite smallness of everything," says Yann Tiersen. "It's the same experiment looking through a microscope as it is a telescope." Named after a chapel in a small village on the island of Ushant, Kerber marks a new chapter in critically-acclaimed composer Yann Tiersen's career. A chapter still true to Tiersen's nuanced and subtle approach but one that sets out with his most overtly electronic material to date. Beautifully textured, highly immersive and thoughtfully constructed, Tiersen creates an electronic world, providing an environment in which the piano source exists. A sense of place has often been a central theme in Tiersen's work and here that is no different. Each track is tied to a place mapping out the immediate landscape that surrounds Tiersen's home, linking back to his thoughts on the possibilities of the infinite smallness. This official, exclusive folio is beautifully printed on high-quality, uncoated paper with striking graphic artwork. All seven pieces are presented for solo piano and follow an exclusive introduction to the project.
