"Besides Jesus, no one has kept me from despair, or taken me deeper into the mysteries of the gospel, than the apostle Paul." —John Piper No one has had a greater impact on the world for eternal good than the apostle Paul—except Jesus himself. For John Piper, this impact is very personal. He does not just admire and trust Paul. He loves him. Piper gives us thirty glimpses into why his heart and mind respond this way. Can a Christian-killer really endure 195 lashes from a heart of love? Can a mystic who thinks he was caught up into heaven be a model of lucid rationality? Can an ethnocentric Jew write the most beautiful call to reconciliation? Can a person who lives with the unceasing anguish of empathy be always rejoicing? Can a man's description of the horrors of human sin be exceeded by his delight in human splendor? Can a man with a backbone of steel be as tender as a nursing mother? If we know this man—if we see what Piper sees—we too will love him. Paul's testimony is a matter of life and death. Piper invites you into his relationship with Paul in the hope that you will know life, forever.

With America's confidence in the Bible at an all-time low and the strength of her spiritual convictions waning, it is essential for Christians—especially Christian leaders—to be well-grounded in biblical theology. To have a clear and comprehensive understanding of the key doctrines of evangelicalism. In response, professor and award-winning author Bruce Demarest has made plain God's glorious plan of salvation, his provision for the human dilemma through Christ's work on the cross, and the application of saving grace to unbelievers. Demarest's unique approach defines each topic, identifies its most pressing issues, examines the ways in which the doctrine has been understood historically, and interprets the Bible's revelation. The result is a clear and carefully constructed doctrinal statement that you can defend, live out, and communicate to others. This singular, comprehensive treatment of one of Christianity's essential doctrines gives definitive, Bible-based answers about salvation and the cross— and about related theological issues such as grace and regeneration. It's perfect for clarifying your theology and gaining deep understanding of this foundational theme. Part of the Foundations of Evangelical Theology series.

Distinctive and notable aspect of the Book- Allowing the Holy Spirit work in us and understanding that without Him, we are unable to conquer our weakness or subdue the flesh. Loyalty in this Journey with Christ is inevitable. As God's children we need to pledge allegiance to God. If I perish, I perish but the will of the Father for my life must be done. The Holy Spirit has taught me that it is almost impossible to receive anything from the Father outside the place of prayer. I was in the middle of prayer when these words were dropped in my spirit- The Mastery of subduing the flesh. I immediately knew it was a book, but I had no idea where to start. But by the grace of God, I picked up my pen and a book and began to write whatever came in my thoughts, miraculously even I was amazed at certain mysteries revealed in the book. Subduing the flesh is something we have to continue to do for the rest of our lives. The only way to master the art of subduing the flesh is by giving the Holy Spirit a chance to express Himself in us. Jesus Christ saw me through this Book. I am from the South South side of Nigeria, Delta state, I was born to a family of Five children and I am the first of them all. I love to read my Bible, inspirational books, listen to sermons from a select few of preachers and I love to watch movies at my spare time. The decadence of morality in the world today and how the world is rejecting the sacrifice of my Savior Jesus Christ inspired me to write the book. My website is www.childoftheking.teachersden.org.
