It was the sort of mission Batman had run a thousand times. From high above the sweltering summer streets of Gotham, Batman would escort the GCPD as the dangerous metahuman supervillain known as E.M.P. was transferred from a temporary holding cell to his permanent home at Blackgate Prison in Gotham Harbor. E.M.P.’s electrical powers posed a dangerous threat, but the situation was well in hand. Until it wasn’t. Now every light in Gotham is out, the police have been knocked into disarray, and a broken, bleeding Batman must fight his way to Blackgate, block by block, dragging E.M.P. behind him. But it’s not just the gangs who want to make life difficult for him. The dark corners of Gotham contain many surprises…and E.M.P. has many more shocks to deliver before the night is through! One of the most iconic Batman artists of the 21st century, the incomparable Jock (The Batman Who Laughs, Batman: The Black Mirror), has focused all his storytelling powers on the tale of one very, very dark night in Gotham City. It’s always darkest before the dawn-if it ever comes… Collects Batman: One Dark Knight #1-3.

"It's fabulous. A triumph." -Stephen King"The most terrifying comic you've ever read." -MTV NewsWhen the Rooks family moves to the remote town of Litchfield, NH to escape a haunting trauma, they're hopeful about starting over. But something evil is waiting for them in the woods just beyond town. Watching from the trees. Ancient...and hungry. Collects WYTCHES #1-6.More praise for WYTCHES:"Dark and brutal, Wytches are like nothing horror fans have ever seen" -USA Today"In Wytches, the Image Comics series Snyder co-created with the superstar art team of Jock and Matt Hollingsworth, the writer isn't just completely reinventing witches--through the story of the Rook family's dealings with the titular monsters, he's diving deep into very real fears about being a parent, and the ugliness that hides in all of us." -Entertainment Weekly"An awesome and at times terrifying tale." -IGN"A great read.... the art is outstanding and certain panels may give you nightmares." -iO9"If you read the first 4 pages of WYTCHES, there's no turning back. Scary as fuck and impossible to put down. Bravo." -Joe Hill, Locke & Key"Monumental." -Bloody Disgusting"Snyder has tackled horror before, but Wytches sets out to be an entirely new level of scary. Aside from the fact that the monsters in the book are terrifying (artist Jock has done an amazing job realizing the creatures), Snyder's vision of witchcraft is as much about the deepest fears parents face as it is about spooky monsters in the woods." -Complex Magazine

Scottish-born artist Jock Macdonald initially moved to Canada to take up a lecturing position at the Vancouver School of Decorative and Applied Arts, and went on to become a key, formative figure in the Painters Eleven, a group of painters who vigorously promoted abstract painting across Canada. Released to coincide with an ambitious new retrospective exhibition organised by the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, the Robert McLaughlin Gallery and the Vancouver Art Gallery, Jock Macdonald: Evolving Form includes contributions by academics and writers including Anna Hudson, Assistant Professor in Canadian Art and Curatorial Studies at York University, Michelle Jacques, Chief Curator at Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, Linda Jansma, Senior Curator at The Robert Mclaughlin Gallery, Oshawa and Ian Thom, Senior Curator at Vancouver Art Gallery. Previous publications dedicated to Macdonald's work have not analyzed the artist's use of colour which, as an abstractionist and later a borderline Surrealist, was arguably the most significant part of his practice. In this lavishly illustrated book colour reproductions of Macdonald's works can be seen alongside the writings of leading experts in the field of Canadian art history.
