During this period, ships, goods, diseases, human beings and ideas flowed across the ocean, tying together the Atlantic basin in a complex web of relationships. This title is available online in its entirety in Open Access. Dutch Atlantic Connections reevaluates the role of the Dutch in the Atlantic between 1680-1800. It shows how pivotal the Dutch were for the functioning of the Atlantic sytem by highlighting both economic and cultural contributions to the Atlantic world.

Papers focus on the pottery of Mediterranean origin imported into the Atlantic, as well as ceramics of Atlantic production which had widespread distribution. They examine chronologies and relative distributions, and consider the composition of key Atlantic assemblages, revealing new insights into the networks of exchange between c. 400-700 AD.
