The Cape Town Commitment, which arose from The Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization (Cape Town, 2010), stands in the historic line of The Lausanne Covenant (1974) and The Manila Manifesto (1989). The Cape Town Commitment is the main document that resulted from the 3rd Lausanne Congress in 2010, and outlines the role of the church for evangelicals today. Proselytism remains one of the most divisive issues in global Christianity, jeopardizing many ecumenical initiatives and projects.
