The final three paperbacks of the award-winning six-book series by Kate Forsyth. Life is always hard for the gypsies, who live to their own rhythm and their own rules, but since Oliver Cromwell had seized control of England, life had been harder - and drabber - than ever. But now life for the Finch tribe has gone even more horribly wrong. They have been accused of vagrancy and murder, and thrown into gaol with only three weeks to live. The only members of the family to escape are 13-year-old Emilia and her cousin Luka. They have been entrusted to find the six charms and bring them together again. Then, perhaps, the gypsies could once again have some luck... and the Finch tribe could walk free. What Emilia and Luka do not realise is that there is a price to be paid for each lucky charm, and that the cost may prove too high... 20th August - 24th August 1658: Having acquired the first three charms in the quest to secure their family's freedom, Luka and Emilia flee into Sussex with soldiers hot on their heels, in company with a Royalist duke, a Catholic priest, a highwayman and young Tom Whitehorse. Only the Catholic underground can help them all escape - but this is a most dangerous religion in the time of Puritan rule. And Emilia and Luka still must find the elusive gypsy tribe of the cat's eye shell, who, it seems, have turned to smuggling...

Tohi Vagahau Niue is a significant new dictionary detailing the Polynesian language of Niue, and will benefit Niuean studies for years to come. While its main aim is to be a repository for native speakers, it will also serve a wider linguistic audience, including comparativists and theorists in lexicography. Detailed user notes introduce the reader to the basic challenges in Niuean lexicography and grammar. With some 10,000 Niuean word entries, the present dictionary is a significant expansion on an earlier work. The Niuean contributors took great care to present their language as a living entity while preserving its valuable past, but they are also aware of its uncertain future. Language revival is essential to preserve a linguistic Pacific jewel, and as such the new dictionary will lend status to Niuean language studies as well as be an invaluable help in using Niuean confidently in everyday life.

This work is based on the WORLD REGISTER OF MARINE SPECIES (WORMS), which is an international platform of science. This includes the currently valid scientific names and systematics of our recent marine animals. This book presents more than 600 different species of marine and freshwater molluscs. It also includes some species of sea urchins, starfish and arthropods, bringing the total number of diverse species to more than 780. The work places the species in the context of their habitats, their survival and reproduction strategies, and their aquaristic durability, if live specimens can be obtained. This book presents both: The live animals for the vivarists and their empty shells for the collectors. Many of the species shown here are not common, unusual or even rare. In addition, some photos of original habitats and aquarium photographs round off the work. In passing, the book also comments on some current environmental problems, which are unfortunately usually not mentioned in conventional works on this subject. A very informative book, which should inspire reflection and action at the same time.
