The Collected Works Of Witness Lee 1990 Volume 3

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1990, volume 3, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from August 15 through November 24, 1990. Brother Lee remained in Anaheim, California, from the first part of May until the end of the third week in August. During that time he visited Long Beach, California. At the end of August Brother Lee visited San Francisco, San Jose, and Berkeley, California. In early September he returned to Anaheim and remained there until the middle of October. During that period he briefly visited San Diego and San Bernardino, California. In the middle of October Brother Lee traveled to the Far East and remained there until the first part of November. During that period he visited Taipei, Taiwan, and then Kota Kinabalu, Sibu, Kuching, and Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. In the middle of November he returned to Anaheim and remained there until the end of the year. The contents of this volume are divided into ten sections, as follows: 1. Six messages given in Anaheim, California, on August 15 through September 26. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Prophecy of the Four "Sevens" in the Bible and are included in this volume under the same title. 2. Ten messages given in San Francisco, San Jose, and Berkeley, California, on August 24 through September 2. They were previously published in a book entitled The Economy and Dispensing of God and are included in this volume under the same title. Chapters 1 through 4 and 6 were spoken in Chinese. 3. Four messages given in San Francisco and Berkeley, California, on August 26 through September 3. They are included in this volume under the title Fellowship with the Church in San Francisco, California, and with the Young People, the College Students, and the Church in Berkeley, California. 4. A message given in Berkeley, California, on September 2. This message was previously published in a booklet entitled God, Education, and Character. It is included in this volume as chapter 2 of Fellowship with the Church in San Francisco, California, and with the Young People, the College Students, and the Church in Berkeley, California. Therefore, it is not reprinted in this section. 5. Two messages given in Berkeley, California, on September 2 and 3. They are included in this volume under the title Fellowship with the Elders concerning Carrying Out the Lord's New Way and Keeping the Oneness and One Accord in the Church. The two messages were combined into one chapter. 6. Four messages given in San Diego and San Bernardino, California, on September 15 through 23. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Divine Dispensing for the Divine Economy and are included in this volume under the same title. 7. A message given in San Bernardino, California, on September 22. This message was previously published in a book entitled The Basic Principles for the Practice of the God-ordained Way and is included in this volume under the same title. 8. Ten messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on October 14 through 22. These messages were previously published in Chinese and English in a book entitled The Vision of the Divine Dispensing and Guidelines for the Practice of the New Way and are included in this volume under the same title. 9. Seventeen messages given in Chinese in Kota Kinabalu, Sibu, Kuching, and Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, on October 24 through November 5. These messages were previously published in Chinese and English in a book entitled A Deeper Study of the Divine Dispensing and are included in this volume under the same title. 10. Seven messages given in Chinese in Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, and Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, on October 24 through November 6. These messages were previously published in Chinese and English in a book entitled The Up-to-date Presentation of the God-ordained Way and the Signs concerning the Coming of Christ and are included in this volume under the same title. 11. Five messages given in Anaheim, California, on November 22 through 24. They are included in this volume under the title The Divine Dispensing of the Divine Trinity for the Church as the Body of Christ.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1963, volume 3, contains the messages and fellowship given by Brother Witness Lee from July 13 through September 1, 1963, with the exception of messages he gave in a series on the Gospel of John, which are published in Life-study of John (not included in The Collected Works). The eight sections that constitute this volume are composed largely of messages that were given during the summer training held in Los Angeles and Altadena, California, from July 13 through August 22. The training covered four main areas: life, truth, the church, and service. The messages on life and on truth were given in the evening of each Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday, and the messages on the church and on service were given in the evening of each Thursday. The messages given in the evening focused on these four main areas, and the messages given in the morning were devoted to fellowship concerning personal problems, spiritual problems, the church, the local churches, the Lord's Day gathering, practical service, prayer, and Christian practices. The contents of this volume are as follows: 1. Eighteen messages concerning life given on July 13 through August 20 as part of the summer training. These messages have been published under the title Basic Principles of the Experience of Life. One message, chapter 9, is included also in The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1965, volume 3, as chapter 8 of Our Human Spirit. 2. The five messages on truth given on July 13 through 22 as part of the summer training. Four of these messages have been published previously under the title The Building of God. However, in researching for The Collected Works, a fifth message was discovered. 3. Six messages on service given on July 18 through August 22 as part of the summer training. These messages have been published under the title Basic Principles for the Service in theChurch Life. Chapters 1 through 3 are included also in The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1969, volume 1, as chapters 6 through 8 of To Serve in the Human Spirit. 4. Six messages on the church given on July 18 through August 22 as part of the summer training. These messages have been published under the title Basic Principles for the Practice of the Church Life. 5. Messages 6 through 13 of the messages on truth given from July 23 through August 3 as part of the Summer Training. These messages have been published under the title The Work of the Holy Spirit. 6. Messages 14 through 18 of the messages on truth given from August 6 through 13 as part of the Summer Training. These messages have been published under the title A Brief Definition of the Kingdom of the Heavens. 7. Fourteen miscellaneous messages given in Los Angeles between July 16 and September 1. These messages are included in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Messages. 8. Miscellaneous fellowship given by Brother Lee to the saints in the Los Angeles area from July 19 through August 24. These messages are included in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Speakings. The contents of this section were composed from personal notes taken by brothers who were present in the meetings. Brother Lee gave four additional messages in Los Angeles during this period of time--on July 26 and August 9, 14, and 20--for which no record has been found.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1961-1962, volume 3, contains messages given and personal notes written by Brother Witness Lee in June 1961 through September 9, 1962. Historical information concerning Brother Lee's travels and the content of his ministry in 1961 and 1962 can be found in the general preface that appears at the beginning of volume 1 in this set. The contents of this volume are divided into ten sections, as follows: 1. Fifteen messages given in June 1961. Messages 1 through 12 were given in Taipei, Taiwan, and Messages 13 through 15 were given in an unknown location. The fifteen messages were previously published in a book entitled The Exercise of the Spirit and the Building of God and are included in this volume under the same title. 2. Nine messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on August 3 through 19, 1961. These messages were previously published in a book entitled How God Becomes Man's Enjoyment and are included in this volume under the same title. 3. Twenty-four messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in the autumn of 1961. These messages were previously published only in Chinese in a book entitled The Visions of Ezekiel. Later, these messages were translated and combined with another set of twenty-four messages on Ezekiel given in Los Angeles, California, in the summer of 1971. The combined set of messages was published as the Life-study of Ezekiel. Neither the Life-study of Ezekiel nor the messages that were previously published in Chinese in the book entitled The Visions of Ezekiel are included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee. 4. A set of entries made in Brother Lee's personal diary while he was in the Philippines and in New York City from October 29, 1961, through January 14, 1962. These notes are included in this volume under the title Witness Lee's Diary. 5. Three messages given in New York City in December 1961. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Riches and the Fullness of Christ. 6. Three personal letters written in New York City on December 18, 1961, and in Seattle, Washington, on March 31 and June 22, 1962. These letters were originally published in two issues of Church News on January 14 and September 9, 1962. They are included in this volume under the title Church News. 7. Three messages given in New York City on January 26 through 28, 1962. These messages are included in this volume under the title Christ and the Church. 8. Seven messages given in New York City and in San Francisco, California, on February 11 through 25, 1962. These messages are included in this volume under the title Various Meetings in New York City and San Francisco. 9. Six messages given at an unknown time and place. These messages were originally published in The Ministry of the Word in April and June 1962 and were also previously published in a book entitled Fellowshipping with the Lord for the Mingling of God with Man. They are included in this volume under the same title as that of the book. 10. Eleven messages given in Berkeley, Palo Alto, and San Francisco, California, on April 14 through July 8, 1962. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Purpose of God's Salvation and are included in this volume under the same title.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1953, volume 3, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee in 1953 through 1968. Historical information concerning Brother Lee's travels and the content of his ministry in 1953 can be found in the general preface that appears at the beginning of volume 1 in this set. The contents of this volume are divided into three sections, as follows: 1. Fourteen messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1953 and 1954. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Knowledge of Life and are included in this volume under the same title. 2. Nineteen messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1953 and 1954. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Experience of Life and are included in this volume under the same title. 3. Seven messages given in Manila, Philippines, and Taipei, Taiwan, in 1953 through 1968. These messages were previously published in a book entitled Character and are included in this volume under the same title.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1965, volume 3, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from August 24 through September 4, 1965. The last two sections of this volume contain messages given in 1963, 1965, 1967, and 1969. The contents of this volume are divided into six sections, as follows: 1. Six messages given in Los Angeles, California, from August 24 through 28, 1965. These messages were previously published under the title The Enjoyment of Christ. 2. Six messages given in Los Angeles, California, from August 28 through September 2. These messages were previously published under the title Christ as the Spirit in the Epistles. 3. Eleven messages given in Los Angeles, California, from August 26 through September 1. These messages were previously published as a nine-chapter book under the title Enjoying Christ as the Word and the Spirit through Prayer. 4. Six messages given in Los Angeles, California, from September 2 through 4. These messages were previously published under the title The Heavenly Vision. 5. Ten messages given in Los Angeles, California, in 1963, 1965, and 1969. These messages were previously published under the title Our Human Spirit. Chapter 8 is included also in The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1963, volume 3, as chapter 9 in Basic Principles of the Experience of Life. 6. An unknown number of messages given in Taiwan in 1965 and 1967. They first appeared in The Ministry of the Word in 1966 and 1968. These messages were translated from the Chinese and previously published under the title The Spirit in the Epistles. From September 12 through 19, 1965, Brother Lee visited Toyama and Tokyo, Japan. Regrettably, there is no record of his speaking in those cities.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1956, volume 3, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from May 2, 1956, through January 21, 1957. Historical information concerning Brother Lee's travels and the content of his ministry in 1956 can be found in the general preface that appears at the beginning of volume 1 in this set. The contents of this volume are divided into eleven sections, as follows: 1. Two messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on May 2 and 3, 1956. These messages are included in this volume under the title Comments on the Testimonies of the Trainees. 2. Two messages published in The Ministry of the Word in 1956. These messages are included in this volume under the title A God Who Hides Himself. Chapter 1 of this section is an unabridged version of the message included in volume 2 as chapter 1 of the section entitled The Ministry of the Word, Miscellaneous Messages, 1956. 3. Two sets of personal notes written in July 1956 and in October through December 1956. These notes are included in this volume under the title Witness Lee's Personal Notes. 4. A talk given in Hong Kong on August 15, 1956. This talk is included in this volume under the title A Talk concerning Wedding Meetings. 5. Eight messages given in Hong Kong on August 21 through 30, 1956. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Inner Operation of God and the Salvation of Man's Tripartite Being. 6. Nine messages given in Hong Kong on August 22 through 30, 1956. These messages are included in this volume under the title Transformation and Conformation in God's Salvation. 7. Five messages given in Hong Kong beginning on September 2, 1956. These messages, which appear as four chapters and an appendix, were previously published in a book entitled The Meaning and Purpose of Prayer and are included in this volume under the same title. 8. Fourteen messages given in Hong Kong on September 5 through October 4, 1956. These messages are included in this volume under the title Guidelines for the Experience of Life. 9. Ten messages given in Hong Kong in September and October 1956. These messages are included in this volume under the title Guidelines for Service. 10. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1994-1997, volume 5, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from August 19, 1996, until a few days before his death on June 9, 1997. During the entire period of 1994 until his death in 1997, Brother Lee ministered in Anaheim, California. The contents of this volume are divided into fifteen sections, as follows: 1. Four messages given on August 19 through September 16, 1996. These messages were previously published in a book entitled A Word of Love to the Co-workers, Elders, Lovers, and Seekers of the Lord and are included in this volume under the same title. 2. Eighteen messages given on August 21, 1996, through March 17, 1997. The first seventeen messages were previously published in a sixteen-chapter book entitled The Vital Groups and are included in this volume under the same title. Two of the messages were combined into one chapter. The final chapter of this section was added after the book was published. 3. Eleven messages given on August 21 through November 6, 1996. These messages are included in this volume under the title Fellowship before the Meetings of the Full-time Training in the Fall of 1996. Three of the messages were combined with other messages to form a section of eight chapters. 4. Six messages given on October 1 through 3, 1996. These messages were previously published in a book entitled How to Be a Co-worker and an Elder and How to Fulfill Their Obligations and are included in this volume under the same title. 5. Three messages given on October 2 and 3, 1996. These messages are included in this volume under the title Pre-meeting Fellowship on How to Be a Co-worker and an Elder and How to Fulfill Their Obligations. 6. A message given on November 11, 1996. This message is included in this volume under the title Paying the Price to Eat the Hidden Manna in Order to Gain the Triune God as Gold. 7. Six messages given on November 28 through December 1, 1996. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Issue of Christ Being Glorified by the Father with the Divine Glory and are included in this volume under the same title. 8. Four messages given on November 29 and 30, 1996. These messages are included in this volume under the title Pre-meeting Fellowship during the 1996 Thanksgiving Conference. 9. Six messages given on December 24 through 26, 1996. These messages were previously published in a book entitled Crystallization-study of the Humanity of Christ and are included in this volume under the same title. 10. Six messages given on December 28 through 30, 1996. These messages were previously published in a book entitled Crystallization-study of the Complete Salvation of God in Romans and are included in this volume under the same title. 11. Six messages given on February 14 through 17, 1997. These messages were Brother Lee's last public speaking. They were previously published in a book entitled The Experience of God's Organic Salvation Equaling Reigning in Christ's Life and are included in this volume under the same title. 12. A brief speaking to a group of co-workers on March 24, 1997. This speaking is included in this volume under the title A Dream Fulfilled. 13. A letter written to all the churches in the Lord's recovery on March 24, 1997. This letter is included in this volume under the title A Letter of Fellowship with Thanks. 14. A brief word of fellowship given on April 6, 1997. This brief word is included in this volume under the title The Highest Point: Doing the Work of the New Jerusalem. 15. The final prayers and speakings by Brother Lee from April 15 until a few days before his death on June 9, 1997. These are included in this volume under the title Final Prayers and Speakings by Brother Witness Lee.
