Published in 1987, The Constitutional Law Dictionary, Volume 2: Governmental Powers does not include significant Supreme Court decisions rendered later than 1986. This supplement, the first for Volume 2, covers some of the significant decisions made since 1987. As in the original Volume 2, the cases and concepts chosen for this supplement are intended to advance readers' understanding of U.S. constitutional law. In total, 138 new cases have been included, and an alphabetical list of all new cases and their respective supplement page numbers appears at the beginning of the supplement. Readers will also find cross-references that point to related material in the original volume. Appendixes B and C have been updated to reflect new justice appointments to the Supreme Court since Volume 2 was published.
