A timely book, written by a pastor's wife, who has taken up the challenge to give a voice to other pastor's wives that are struggling through some of the difficulties inherent in supporting their husbands who have been called to pastor a church, and to lead God's people from the wilderness to the promised land. In her book, the author not only highlights the crosses that pastor's wives must bear, but she also provides hope to the pastor's wife by providing recommendations on how to bear these crosses without compromising their relationship with their husbands, their relationship with God and His people, and their relationship with themselves. This is a book that every pastor's wife should read, and keep in their library or pass along to other pastor's wives as a source of daily encouragement and support. Mrs. Deloise C. This book is written for Pastors and Ministry leaders who have been faithful to their calling. I want to encourage these men and women to remain faithful to their vocation. It goes without saying that ministry isn’t always easy. There are times when doing the work of the Lord can be overwhelming to the point of wanting to walk away from it all. It is a fact that many who serve in ministry suffer from burnout, stress and depression. It is the intent of this author to share some of the reasons why pastors, preachers and ministry leaders want to quit the ministry and why they need to re-evaluate what they are doing and find ways to work smarter and not harder. As you read through this book it is my hope that you learn two things. First, you are not alone when you feel like calling it quits and secondly, you will find ways to slow down, catch your breath and do what is necessary to have a refreshing and effective ministry.

To those who are called, the shepherding ministry is meant by God to be one of life's greatest joys. Yet like a clipper ship sailing past the tip of a great unknown continent in the dead of night, this joy is vast, unexpected, and easy to miss. For many, the initial joy of shepherding souls fades into exhaustion, resentment, even burnout. It does not last. It was not meant to. Much of the early reward of ministry done well is rooted in the gratification of the natural self. The immature shepherd fails to glory in weakness and naturally prefers to glory through strength, giving God the credit of course. Jesus said, "If anyone would come after me . . . he must take up his cross." But why a cross? For the joy set before us. Only ministry embraced as an opportunity to die will reduce the temptation to eventually hate it. Only when walking in the power of a crucified life will a minister be anything more than powerless. Only once fallen to the ground and perished will a leader bear much fruit. So wrestle that shepherd's cross on your shoulders. There is much joy yet to be discovered.

The roots of an insidious Religious Humanism have for some time now steadily been growing deeper and deeper and taking a firm hold in the modern Christian Church in America and across the world. The lethality of this rooting is that Religious Humanism is filled with false teachings which are historically known as heresies.
