Im Mittelpunkt steht die Entwicklung und Gewichtung des Gegenseitigkeitsprinzips bei Versicherungsvereinen auf Gegenseitigkeit (VVaG) in Österreich. Beginnend mit den ersten Gründungen von VVaG führen die Forschungen bis in die Gegenwart und stellen die jeweiligen Entwicklungsphasen der Gegenseitigkeit dar. Die dabei erkennbare schrittweise Verdünnung des Gegenseitigkeitsprinzips in den VVaG bzw. die phasenweise Modifizierung des Gegenseitigkeitsgedankens werden sowohl für Österreich als auch mittels internationaler Beispiele in Form von Länderstudien präsentiert.

The removal from the list of existing Life Offices of the names of the Briton Medical and General, and the Briton, Limited, reduces the number from 98 to 96, no new Life Company having been founded during the year. It is understood that the business Of the Briton is in course of transference to the Marine and General Mutual, and the Insured, therefore, may well be congratulated upon their removal to a Society so solidly based and well managed as the Marine undoubtedly is. As regards the Insured in the Briton Medical, a similar arrangement to that successfully carried out on the part of the Great Briton Mutual and the Emperor Life will no doubt be effected, the policy-holders having to accept a smaller sum by way of Insurance than the face value of the policy.
