The Gospel of Thomas preserves a core of authentic Aramaic sayings of Yeshua older than the earliest Christian writings. When they are isolated from the second-century Gnostic framework, they reveal many of Yeshua's inner-circle kabbalistic teachings. Scholars can restore much of the pre-kabbalistic tradition of Yeshua's era through sources like the Sepher Yetzirah, Sepher Ha-Razim, and the haggadah preserved in the Mishna, Babylonian and Palestinian Talmuds, Philo of Alexandria, and the Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha of the Old Testament. These were the Holy Scriptures of Essenes, Zadokites, and other messianic Jews of the period, including Yeshua and his disciples. The Psalms they chanted in worship and Shabbat Seder were not just those of our Old Testament, but the messianic Odes of Solomon and others preserved in Enochian and apocalyptic scripture. A study of this forgotten sacred literature allows modern scholars to understand and reconstruct the oral Kabbalah of Yeshua embedded in the Gospel of Thomas.

If Jesus, like the Buddha and the ancient Indian Vedas before him, taught the radical oneness of all things¿an unorthodox singularity between self and the divine¿where is the record of such pronouncements by Jesus? It¿s not in the New Testament. In 1945, a discovery in an Egyptian desert may have revealed such a document: The Gospel of Thomas.

The Gospel of Thomas is a collection of 114 sayings and statements Jesus made to disciples and followers. This Gnostic Gospel is one of 13 ancient codices found near Nag Hammadi, Egypt, in 1945. These Gnostic writings assert a very different perspective of early Christianity. Some of today's popular movies such as "The Da Vinci Code" and "Stigmata" make references to the secret meanings hidden in the writings of Jesus in The Gospel of Thomas. Disciple Didymus Judas Thomas encrypted these 114 statements of Jesus challenging the dogma within Judaism. When the church spoke of sacrificing animals, and taught waiting for the world to end, Jesus would say sacrificing animals was useless and no one needed to wait for the Kingdom of Heaven to arrive. It was already here, right now, and ever present. Encrypting his words kept him out of prison. The Gospel of Thomas, Revealed untangles the meaning of these encrypted sayings. Jesus offers his disciples and followers a new covenant, vastly different from Judaism and today's Christianity, that guarantees followers who live their lives turning inside, practicing his new spiritual covenant, will find and experience the Kingdom of the Father long before death. Read what Jesus really thought.

Part One: After an industrial accident and a profound Near Death Experience in 1966, in which he went through the whole process of dying and where he spoke to Jesus (Yeshua), Dr. MacDonald was given the choice to stay “on the other side” or return to a broken body. He returned to life with the conviction that there was something wrong with the Gospels in the Bible and that he had returned to life to discover what the problem was. He discontinued his theological studies and started on a spiritual quest which took him from Canada to England and around the world, where he did research in Commonwealth Literature and the history of religion. He received his PhD from the University of Leeds in England and completed a successful career as a university professor in Canada. In the 1980’s he discovered a new gospel through the process of what the Tibetan Buddhists call a “terma,” a text hidden in consciousness for many lifetimes till the time came for it to be written in the present. Part One explores the process of discovering the gospel and the implications of the discovery. Kevin Ryerson, one of the chief trance channels in the United States’ confirmed that MacDonald was the reincarnation of Judas Thomas, and that is why he was drawn to tell his story.Part Two:The second part of the book is a gospel, told from the point of view of the Judas Thomas, who is considered in several early Christian writings to be the twin brother of Jesus. This section follows the canonical gospels fairly closely and includes many new teachings by Jesus (Yeshua) as well as an account of the relationship between Judas Thomas and his twin brother which sheds new light on the mission and teachings of Jesus. Many people have found this part of the book has moved them deeply and the Rev. George Parker (retired Anglican priest) reflects the reaction of many members of the clergy and laity when he says, after reading “The Thomas Book,” “the Gospels make sense for the first time in my life.” A number of people have found the teachings and the new account of the actions of Jesus and his disciples so important that they have bought multiple copies of the book for family and friends.

A provocative study of the gnostic gospels and the world of early Christianity as revealed through the Nag Hammadi texts. Jesus preaches the coming of a new man, the genesis of the man of knowledge. In this gospel, Jesus describes a journey from limited to unlimited consciousness. The Jesus of Thomas invites us to drink deeply from the well of knowledge that lies within, not so that we may become good Christians but so we may attain the self-knowledge that will make each of us, too, a Christ. Discover the original, mystical teachings of Jesus in the Gospel of Thomas, the most important book left out of the Bible. The Gospel of Thomas contains the seeds of a profound mysticism that can transform our view of the universe--and ourselves. History Academy unpacks the core teachings of the Gospel in ways that can shift not only how we understand ourselves, but how we view reality itself. The Way of Thomas is packed with profound insights and practical advice for spiritual practice. The Gospel of Thomas consists of mini-parables of deep inward and symbolic meaning--many of which are not found in the New Testament. This eye-opening collection of texts sheds light on the esoteric knowledge of Gnosticism, revealing intimate conversations between Jesus and his Disciples. Gnosticism was a wide-ranging religious movement of the first millennium CE--with earlier antecedents and later flourishings--whose adherents sought salvation through knowledge and personal religious experience. Gnostic writings offer striking perspectives on both early Christian and non-Christian thought. For example, some gnostic texts suggest that god should be celebrated as both mother and father, and that self-knowledge is the supreme path to the divine. Only in the past fifty years has it become clear how far the gnostic influence spread in ancient and medieval religions--and what a marvelous body of scriptures it produced. The wisdom in this inspiring collection of texts is wholly relevant to our lives today, addressing the questions of good and evil, sin and suffering, and the path to salvation. In 1945, several gospels, hidden since the first century, were found in the Egyptian Desert at Nag Hammadi. This discovery caused a sensation as the scrolls revealed the mysteries of the Gnostics--a movement which emerged during the formative period of Christianity. 'Gnosis', from the Greek, broadly meaning 'hidden spiritual knowledge', was associated with renouncing the material world, and focusing on attaining the life of the Holy Spirit. Many Christian sects are derived from the esoteric knowledge of Gnosticism. This volume also includes introductory essays, notes, tables, glossary, index, etc. to help the reader understand the context and contemporary significance of these texts which have shed new light on early Christianity and ancient thought The selections gathered here in poetic, readable translation represent Jewish, Christian, Hermetic, Mandaean, Manichaean, Islamic, and Cathar expressions of gnostic spirituality. Their regions of origin include Egypt, the Greco-Roman world, the Middle East, Syria, Iraq, China, and France. History Academy represents a global bookshelf of the best works throughout history and across genres and disciplines. Readers trust the series to provide authoritative texts enhanced by introductions and notes by distinguished scholars and contemporary authors, as well as up-to-date translations by award-winning translators.
