In addition to being beautiful, innocent and young; they had more importantly demonstrated great strength and doggedness even in the face of adversity. They were bold and daring enough to venture against festering odds and dehumanizing norms against their gender and worst still coming from a region where the girl-child education is still particularly not only frowned at but is also traditionally viewed as antisocial and in some instances even antireligious. On the night of the 14th of April 2014, two hundred and seventy-six (276) girls were abducted from their school dormitory in Chibok, North Eastern Nigeria.
