The founder of the Diamond Approach to Self-Realization examines narcissism through a spiritual lens, presenting it as our greatest barrier to understanding our truest self In this book, the author explores the underlying spiritual understanding of narcissism. He presents a detailed map of the steps involved in working through barriers that prevent us from recognizing the most essential nature of our true identity. “Almaas is one of the most significant voices for a new and remarkably integrated spiritual vision. His work connects the personal, the universal, the psychological and the spiritual not as pieces put together, but as the inseparable mandala of the sacred that we are. I respect his work to the highest degree and commend it to anyone interested in living the life of the spirit.” —Jack Kornfield, Ph.D., author of After the Ecstasy, the Laundry

“An honest, compelling, surprising, and vastly reassuring book about the spiritual life of women . . . This landmark book is spiritual precisely because it is authentic.”—Joan Borysenko, Ph.D., author of Minding the Body, Mending the Mind With a foreword by Jean Shinoda Bolen, M.D. For many contemporary women, the old patriarchal models of religion are no longer relevant, forming a need to look beyond the male-oriented past to a wider, more fulfilling spiritual horizon. In this fascinating and thought-provoking book, Sherry Anderson and Patricia Hopkins show how many women have redefined traditional beliefs and rediscovered their own unique spiritual heritage—The Feminine Face of God. Anderson and Hopkins guide you through the sacred garden of: • Childhood—seedbed of life's sacred passage • Leaving home—finding your own inner authority • Relationships—new perspectives on intimacy • Spiritual practice—the importance of guidance and discipline • Sexuality—a wild card constantly cracking open the heart • And much more As women enter their sacred garden and learn the art of inner listening, they acquire the tools for living, loving, and praying authentically. In The Feminine Face of God there are seeds for growth: for creating and sustaining intimacy and love in a new way; for a new understanding of sexuality; for a new vision of family, a family of choice in a community of love.

Every living being's primary goal is to survive. It's even more significant than reproduction. While not reproducing, children and grandparents are still alive. Still, one may become optimistic without passing on genes. Psychologists have been researching for decades how lifelong, significant goals evolve. Launching a business, investigating an illness, or teaching children are examples of objectives that have the potential to improve the lives of others. A feeling of purpose seems to have developed in humans such that they might do great things together, which may explain why it is linked to improved mental and physical well-being. As it relates to evolution, the purpose is adaptive. It promotes the survival of both humans and the species. Many people believe that their unique talents and ability to stand out from the crowd give them a sense of purpose. The key to leading a successful life is to recognize, accept, honor, and attain predefined intents.

This essay reconstructs Schelling's philosophical development during the years 1794-1800. It emphasizes the role of Kant's heritage within Schelling's early philosophy, and the strong relationship between Schelling and Hölderlin during their Tübingen years. The central question it explores is how the Absolute relates to Finiteness - a relation that constitutes the basis of transcendental idealism as well as the essence of a transcendental philosophy, here radically understood as a philosophy of finitude and as a critical aesthetics. The essay shows the young Schelling as he presents a rich and novel field of inquiry, which provides a credible and engaging alternative to Hegelian thinking and anticipates themes from twentieth-century philosophy (Phenomenology, Existentialism, Critical Thinking). The volume thus provides both a historical and a contemporary look at Schelling's early philosophy, and at its original and speculative approach.
