The Princess And The Pea And What Really Happened

Once, there was a Prince who wanted to marry a Princess. Only a real one would do. So he traveled through all the world to find her, and everywhere things went wrong. There were Princesses aplenty, but how was he to know whether they were real Princesses? There was something not quite right about them all. So he came home again and was unhappy, because he did so want to have a real Princess.

In a castle, the Prince is upset. He cries, "Why can't I find a Princess to marry!" The Prince says, "Something is always wrong with every Princess that I meet. Some have no manners. Other Princesses are conceited or too selfish." Outside the castle is a girl named Princess. She is not a real princess. She is lost and stuck out in the rain. She has found a crown in the ground and puts it on just for fun.
