Over a thousand million Christians today blindly accept that Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ. They produce "a thousand and one" prophecies from the Jewish Bible (the Old Testament) to prove their claim that Jesus was the Messiah promised to the Jews. Let us hold the thousand" prophecies in abeyance for a moment and examine the only unequivocal claim made by Jesus in the Gospels and examine whether he fulfilled his promise to the Jews. We must admit that the word CHRIST is not a name. It is a title. It is a translation of the Hebrew word Messiah, meaning "anointed." The Greek word for "anointed" is Christos from which we get the word Christ. Priests and kings were "anointed" when being consecrated to their office. The Holy Bible confers this title even on a heathen king CYRUS (Isaiah 45:1).

In this new and refreshing approach to the story, Ben Zvi starts with the premise that Jonah, like most books, was written to be read. He therefore concentrates on intended and unintended readership(s) of Jonah and the network of messages that they were likely to derive through their reading and rereading. He starts with the historical and social matrix of the production and reading of the book in antiquity, analyzes its self-critical approach and its metaprophetic character as a comment on the genre of prophetic books and on prophets. How does the historical fact of Nineveh's destruction acually shape the reading? Or the perception of Jonah as a runaway slave?Ben Zvi demonstrates the malleability of interpretation of the Book of Jonah and its limitations, as attested in different communities of readers. He asks why certain messages are easily accepted by particular historical communities, whereas others are not raised at all.

This book shows that the Traditional View for Easter (Palm Sunday, the Friday crucifixion and the Sunday morning resurrection) is not scriptural. Our derivation, for what really happened to Jesus, requires an understanding of the Hebrew calendar which is derived from the book of Exodus. This calendar is based on the moon and has all its days start just after sunset. The Hebrew calendar establishes all the rules for naming the weeks, celebrating the festivals, etc. Jesus was crucified on the Preparation Day, and was entombed during the Passover, on the spices and perfume Preparation Day and during the regular Jewish Sabbath. This is three days and three nights just as Jesus prophesied numerous times. The Easter festival was establish with a Greek calendar much later and can never explain the sign of Jonah. Everett is by training and experience an Aerospace Engineer but his background is much broader than that. He has Degrees in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics and Theology. He has taught school at three Universities and worked for three different Aerospace companies where he learned about computers, missiles and education. When he retired from Aeronutronic-Ford, he attended Seminary at Talbot Theological Seminary where he studied Biblical languages and Theology because he was interested in reading the Bible in its original languages. He became interested in the theological problems related to the Sign of Jonah and the celebration of Easter. This book is the result of these two later researches. He is thankful for this opportunity to serve and to honor Jesus Christ in clarifying the confusing problems that were discussed there.
