Be Prepared Robert C. Courson Jr. has a folksy way of warning people that life is brief: “You may tie your shoes this morning, but the undertaker could untie them tonight.” In other words, he said, “We have no promise for tomorrow.” —the Danville, Ill. Commercial-News, by staff writer Mary Wicoff Robert C. Courson Jr., ThD, senior pastor of the First Church of God in Mitchell, Indiana, is the author of a new book, The Terminal Generation—The Apocalyptic Words of Christ for Such a Time as This. The book has climbed to the top of the Amazon charts for Christian Books and Bibles, Bible Study and Reference as well as Kindle eBooks. —the Bedford, Ind. Times-Mail, June 6, 2014 “Be Prepared and Don’t Be Left Behind” This book is an instruction manual covering the things to come in our lifetime and also a survival manual of protection and preparation. Be prepared and don’t be left behind. Jesus Christ is coming soon—suddenly and silently—to “rapture” his church; the Antichrist will ascend to dominate world power, and the wrath of God will be unleashed upon sinful man during the tribulation period. America and the world as we know it are going to change drastically, according to the unveiling and fulfillment of Bible prophecy in our terminal generation.

This book is a fresh look at the subject of eschatology, which is the study of end-time prophetic events. It is not locked into the traditional thinking and teachings espoused in the last two hundred years. The views expressed in this book are the result of a comparison of what Jesus taught on this subject through the Old Testament prophets, what Jesus taught on this important subject while He was on the earth, and what Jesus taught from heaven to His apostles after His ascension. The basic premise embraced while comparing these is that what Jesus taught in the Old Testament, or what He taught while on the earth, or what He taught after His ascension, would never contradict one another. What Jesus taught on earth was spoken in plain earthly language whereas much of the other teachings were generally spoken in parabolic language (in heavenly/figurative language). In interpreting parabolic language, there can be numerous possibilities as to God's intended meaning. However, many of these possibilities can be eliminated by comparing them with what Jesus taught plainly during His earthly ministry. Any interpretation that contradicts what Jesus taught in the Olivet Discourse cannot be the intended meaning of that which He taught in any of the prophetic books of the Bible such as Daniel, Isaiah, Joel, or Revelation. This book is not intended to rehash the popular, traditional teachings of our day on eschatology, but rather to open up the minds of the readers to explore and consider concepts and views that lie outside of the box of the commonly accepted teachings being taught to this present generation. God's Word declares that some of these prophetic things will be sealed or hidden from man until the last days of this age. However, God promises to reveal that which has been hidden to the last day/terminal generation.

The generation who will be alive at the time of Christ's return is called the Terminal Generation. This special generation will experience unique times unlike any other generation has witnessed before or ever will see again. But is that our generation? Israel once again exists, the Sanhedrin has been reconvened and temple preparations are in full swing. Signs such as terrorism and moral decay line up with the conditions required before Jesus can return. For only 75 cents per lesson, examine the evidence as this twenty-five week group study tackles the intriguing questions such as is Mystery Babylon someone or something known in our modern world; what is the identity of the two witnesses and what is their purpose; how might the Mark of the Beast logistically be implemented; how close are we to the beginning of the rebuilding of the third temple; what do the seals, trumpets and bowls mean for mankind; who might be the other signatory on a seven-year peace agreement with Israel; how does the Bible compare to the Qur'an on the issue of terrorism; are there signs of the foundation of a one world government that can be seen today; what might a one world religion look like given our current global faith composition; what is the identity of the Restrainer and can we see traces of it in our world today; how do pre-Tribulation and post-Tribulation rapture arguments compare and what will life be like through the Millennial Reign and beyond? Delve into a relevant exploration of how end time prophecy affects us in our world today as you decide for yourself if we are the Terminal Generation. Simplifying the complex and often confusing world of prophetic events, each week you and your group will enjoy this topical approach to prophetic events as you open with a prayer and ice-breaker followed by a short Greek or Hebrew word study relating to the topic of the week. A lesson then explains the topic in simplified terms using relevant information intertwined with the facts of scripture viewed against the backdrop of our world. Following the fact filled lessons are discussion questions that encourage group discussion on how the topic relates to our world as we know it. After discussing the weekly concept, suggestions are provided for additional ways to connect the topic to your week. Lastly, the study ends with a closing prayer which gives your group the opportunity to pray for each other. Piece by piece, like a puzzle coming together, you and your group will make important connections and develop a greater understanding of end time prophetic events and what they mean to us, now. So, what do you think? Are we the Terminal Generation? It's time to make the relevant connections between scripture and our world. Find out for yourself what scripture has to say about the matter today. This book also pairs well with The No-Homework Bible Study: Group Hug Holidays by Christine Tate. When a holiday approaches, take a one week break to do the single, stand-alone fellowship building lesson for the holiday, then return to your regular study program.
