Solution-focused systemic structural constellations for therapy and organisational change. Constellation work is an effective way of externalising and working with problems in family and organisational life. Solution focused practice is the art of building solutions as simply as possible. The author combines the two and sets out a radical yet gentle form of practice. The pioneering work of the author and her partner Matthias Varga von Kibed is highly influential in Europe and appears here in English for the first time.

Society is full of would-be 'change agents'-campaigners, government officials, enlightened business people, engaged intellectuals-set on improving public services, reforming laws and regulations, guaranteeing human rights, achieving a fairer deal for those on the sharp end, and greater recognition for any number of issues. Drawing on many first-hand examples and numerous new case studies and interviews with grassroots activists and organizations around the world, as well as Oxfam's unrivalled global experience, this important book answers the question: how does change happen and how can we-governments, organizations, businesses, leaders, campaigners, employees, and ordinary citizens-make a difference?

Bible study notes and commentary on the New Testament Gospel of John. Emphasizes understanding the text with practical applications. Intended to be helpful to all Christians, including teachers and preachers, while avoiding an emphasis on technical issues. Written from the conservative viewpoint of faith in the Bible as the absolute, inerrant, verbally inspired word of God. Comments include discussion of these topics: * Evidence for faith in the Deity of Jesus * Testimony of miracles and fulfilled prophecy * Jesus' public ministry and teaching * Work of John the Baptist and of Jesus' apostles * Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection

What do you think when you hear the word "faith"? Do you think of deep spiritual connections, or irrational will-to-believe? What even is faith, how does it work, and what is it founded on? This book might help you answer some of these questions, as it explores the interplay between faith and beliefs, the foundations of religious beliefs, and how someone might go from having no faith to having a faith. If you are interested in faith and spirituality--and let's face it, you are interested enough to read the back cover of this book--but don't know what that might mean, then this book might be for you. I hope it will help you discover what faith means and how you might explore whether it is for you. If you have a faith but are struggling with doubts or uncertainties--if you are feeling untethered and in need of a foundation--then this book might be for you. I hope it will help you find the next chapter of your faith, a faith that is open to questions and flexible to challenges.

This book explores, in a manner that is readily accessible to those with little or no formal training in philosophy or theology, important questions concerning the rationality of belief in miracles. This book employs the time-honored literary device of dialogue, a practice that dates as far back as Plato. Done well, this form of philosophical investigation puts forward a thesis, yet genuinely engages with the views its author opposes. These dialogues are intended to provide a philosophical defense of the possibility of rationally justified belief in miracles. Such a defense can legitimately dispense with much of the paraphernalia that professional scholars in a discipline use in writing for other professional scholars in their discipline--some scholarly texts seem to be more references than argument--but it must not "dumb down" the material by oversimplifying the issues, or presenting "straw man" versions of the arguments it seeks to refute. My hope is that not only those who are already convinced of the rationality of belief in miracles will read this book, but also those who are unconvinced.
