Revealed science, as presented in the preceding pages and as ascertained from other sources of eminence and reliability, enables us to state our present understanding as follows: Previous to these discoveries it was understood that the universe was composed of sixty-four or more natural elements and that the smallest divisible part of matter was the atom. Science has recently made further revelation, and we now know that there is but one element in the whole universe and that element is Electricity. The able men who have given their life to the study of these intricate problems are, furthermore, agreed among themselves that matter maintains at all times active motion within itself, since the atom is composed of a large number of electrons, the majority of which are negative and in a constant state of violent motion or vibration, controlled and held within the atom by a smaller number of positive electrons. We also know, by the same unimpeachable authority, that the sixty-four or more natural elements of the old text books, such as Iron, Copper, Zinc, Potash, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen, or any others by whatsoever name called, are one and all Electricity and nothing else; and that the only difference between one and another lies in the number of electrons their atoms may contain. This book addresses the practical aspects of vibration exercise and vibration therapy. In addition, it describes the technical and physiological background, providing applied scientists and doctors with a deeper understanding of the therapeutic potential that vibration exercise holds. Having first emerged two decades ago, vibration exercise has since established itself as a widespread form of physical exercise, used in all rehabilitation areas. The goal of this book is to close the gap between scientific knowledge and practice. Given that occupational exposure to vibration leads to well-known unfavorable effects, the book is also dedicated to potential risks, hazards and contra-indications and of course, the application of vibration therapy in a number of specific conditions is presented in a clinically usable fashion.
