Presently, chaos dominates the world. People are hopeless and scared. In desperation, individuals look to politicians, intellectuals, and ideologies to save them from the fear of death. But, as reality proves, none of these things provide salvation. Therefore, Tanner was compelled to write about the one Saviour, one hope, and one path to everlasting life, Jesus Christ. Christ alone is the sacrifice for sin, he alone frees a person from death, and he alone is the eternal salvation for humanity. As such, this book is about Christ, and Christ alone, in the hope that you too, dear Reader, might receive freedom from death and become a True Christian.

Historically, the church's ministry of grounding new believers in the essentials of the faith has been known as catechesis--systematic instruction in faith foundations, including what we believe, how we pray and worship, and how we conduct our lives. For most evangelicals today, however, this very idea is an alien concept. Packer and Parrett, concerned for the state of the church, seek to inspire a much needed evangelical course correction. This new book makes the case for a recovery of significant catechesis as a nonnegotiable practice of churches, showing the practice to be complementary to, and of no less value than, Bible study, expository preaching, and other formational ministries, and urging evangelical churches to find room for this biblical ministry for the sake of their spiritual health and vitality.

What is true Christianity? There is perhaps no better person in recent history to answer this question than Charles Finney. Finney (1792-1875) was the most powerful Christian preacher of the 1800s who sought to clearly articulate what the Scriptures say about living the true Christian life that pleases God. He fearlessly challenged his hearers to bring every aspect of their lives into obedience to God. This book contains sixteen messages of Finney that describe the essential practice of Christianity. Each message will challenge your faith in a deep way and call you to the life that God intends.

John William Fletcher (1729-1785) was a seminal theologian during the early methodist movement and the Church of England in the eighteenth century. Best known for the Checks to Antinomianism, he worked out a theology of history to defend the church against the encroachment of antinomianism as a polemic against hyper-Calvinism, whose system of divine fiat and finished salvation, Fletcher believed, did not take seriously enough either the activity of God in salvation history or an individual believer's personal progress in salvation. Fletcher made the doctrine of accommodation a unifying principle of his theological system and further developed the doctrine of divine accommodation into a theology of ministry. As God accommodated divine revelation to the frailties of human beings, ministers of the gospel must accommodate the gospel to their hearers in order to gain a hearing for the gospel without losing the goal of true Christianity. This book contains insights for pastors, missionaries, and Christian thinkers on true Christianity from Fletcher, who devoted himself, according to Wesley, to being "an altogether Christian.
