This volume of the Vietnam Studies series sees Lt-General Willard Pearson describe the struggles in the Quang Tri and Thua Thien provinces in the far north of Vietnam. Due to their proximity to the North Vietnamese border and the demilitarized zone they saw much fighting and during the years 1966-1968.
