From Alfred to Zulu, Michael Caine has been Britain's best-loved actor for half a century. Now, for the first time, he reveals the truth behind his remarkable life. From his time as an evacuee during the Blitz to his front-line military service in the Korean War, from his early days as an assistant stagehand to becoming Peter O'Toole's understudy, from walk-on parts in local theatres to blowing the bloody doors off with his legendary roles in Zulu and The Italian Job, Caine's life was never simple or easy. Discussing his little-known childhood and family alongside his hard-fought journey from London to Hollywood, Caine writes with astonishing candour about the good years and the lean years, bringing his unique charm and humour to his anecdotes and memories of a sprawling movie-making career. If you worked in Hollywood in the last few decades, you've probably worked with Michael Caine - and his accounts of his relationships with other superstars, both on and offscreen, make this autobiography essential reading for any fan not just of Michael Caine, but of film in general.

“Secular-minded readers seeking an alternative to The Purpose-Driven Life have an excellent starting point here.”—Publishers Weekly For readers who are serious about confronting the big issues in life—but are turned off by books which deal with them through religion, spirituality, or psychobabble, this is an honest, intelligent discussion by a philosopher that doesn't hide from the difficulties or make undeliverable promises. It aims to help the reader understand the overlooked issues behind the obvious questions, and shows how philosophy does not so much answer them as help provide us with the resources to answer them for ourselves. “Useful and provocative.”—The Wall Street Journal “Looking for a clear guide to what contemporary philosophy has to say about the meaning of life? Baggini takes us through all the plausible answers, weaving together Kierkegaard, John Stuart Mill, Monty Python, and Funkadelic in an entertaining but always carefully reasoned discussion.”—Peter Singer, author of How Are We To Live “The question of the meaning of life has long been a byword for pretentious rambling. It takes some nerve to tackle it in a brisk and no-nonsense fashion.”—New Statesman

Child actress Sybil Jason was initially considered a serious rival to Shirley Temple in the late 1930s after her work in theater, on Old Time Radio, and on recordings led to a supporting role in Barnacle Bill (1935). A Warner Bros. test led to a contract, and her American film debut took place in Little Big Shot (1935), directed by Michael Curtiz and co-starring Glenda Farrell, Robert Armstrong, and Edward Everett Horton. Jason followed this with supporting roles opposite some of Warner Bros. most popular stars, including Kay Francis in I Found Stella Parish (1935), Al Jolson in The Singing Kid (1936), Pat O'Brien and Humphrey Bogart in The Great O'Malley (1937), and again with Kay Francis in Comet Over Broadway (1938), among other films. Sybil’s career ended after minor parts in The Little Princess (1939) and The Blue Bird (1940) — ironically with Shirley Temple. Sybil has a lot to say about those years of Hollywood with friends Ian Hunter, Guy Kibbee, May Robson, Rudy Vallee, Jane Wyman, Patrick Swayze, Johnny Green, Frieda Inescort, Beverly Roberts, and others.

In the 1960s, legendary hypnotherapist Dolores Cannon began working with patients who had smoking and eating issues. When taken deep into their subconscious, a surprising thing happened. No matter their class, creed or religion, clients from all over the world kept saying the same thing: “I came here to raise Earth’s vibration" Upon returning to full consciousness this was something of a confusion to people at the time especially prior to crossing the great marker in 2012 when earth moved into a much higher photonic area of the cosmos changing the magnetics and many other elements that trigger our DNA and consciousness. This book acts as a 360* dot-connector, giving a beginner to master level explanation of the Starseed phenomenon, which is currently exploding globally and where it has developed to since. It links together various information and insights spiritually, metaphysically and scientifically so that the phenomenon can be broken down into disparate parts and understood from a very unique vantage point as a connected whole. This book offers the why, who, how, when, and where. For a very long time humanity has been kept in the dark about its spiritual and cosmic inheritance. Who would do such a thing and what would they gain from such an endeavour? In an age of lies everything has become a conspiracy theory and the truth is far stranger than fiction. We are not having a global awakening, but a remembrance of who we really are, a return to our true selves. We are from the stars and we are not alone.

Have you ever seriously considered the most difficult and puzzling questions presented to our minds during this mortal sojourn through an often difficult and challenging existence? Who am I? Where did I come from? Why am I here? Where am I going? And perhaps the most important question of all: What is my purpose for living? In this ultra-modern, digital world of today many people have become so preoccupied with the daily pursuits of life and the addictive overuse of time-consuming technology that many of them rarely pause to seriously consider what life is actually all about. In writing The Mystery of Life it has been my hope and my goal to personally challenge each reader to consider many relevant facts and to follow a line of evidence pointing toward a worldview that is often overlooked and too easily marginalized. We live in an aggressive, technology-driven world where the wild pursuit of power, prestige, possession, and pleasure has become the driving influence ruling over many of our lives. What does your worldview look like? Is there enough evidence to support it beyond reasonable doubt? If not, then I invite you to consider a vast body of mounting evidence that could lead toward a more accurate discernment of an often confusing existence. The view of life that we have each come to know will strongly influence everything we do, say, and become in this world. Based on a remarkable consensus of evidence, perhaps we should consider a worldview understanding that will ultimately avail our hearts and minds of the personal fulfillment and satisfaction we have always longed for and often dreamed of. We owe it to ourselves to seriously consider where the evidence is leading us. Isnt it about time to discover the answers to our most persistent and pressing questions. The Mystery of Life is presented as a literary expose addressing the questions of origin, meaning, morality and destiny.
