This 2nd book is a continuation of the 1st book. The index at the back of the book is brilliant. The contents list, at the front of the book, is in alphabetical order, and is a list of the horses names, gives paragraph numbers. Whereas the Index gives the Rider/Owner in alphanumeric order and gives paragraph numbers. So if you do not know the name of a persons horse you would look up the person in the Index and it would indicate the paragraph numbers to find the answer. For instance: Steptoe and Son would be under 'S' in the Index and this would lead you to 'Hercules', the strong man from Greek Mythology. Or Toy Story 2 would lead you to 'Bullseye' Books 3 and 4 are in the process of compiling, it’s a “Never Ending Story”.

This is the story of Sister Chiara, the socialite who became a Franciscan nun. Born into the Anglo-Irish aristocracy, presented at court and married to an army officer, Chiara Hatton Hall set up a riding school for the international social elite. Her students included the young Princess Royal, Princess Anne. At the age of 42, after the death of her husband, Chiara found her vocation as a religious and exchanged her jodhpurs for a Franciscan habit. Embracing a life of poverty, chastity and obedience, she was later to become an instructing judge on a diocesan marriage tribunal. Then, at the suggestion of an imaginative superior, she took up the reins again – this time to work for Riding for the Disabled, travelling the world to teach riding instructors how to bring confidence, self-respect and joy to mentally and physically handicapped adults and children. Sister Chiara looks back on a life of dramatic contrasts that were ultimately reconciled by embracing the spirit of St Francis.

Spiritueller Ratgeber What if we purposefully tap the horse's ability to make us better humans? Ulrike Dietmann offers a heartwarming, empowering program for doing just that. In this book, she uses the model of the hero's journey, developed by the late author and mythologist Joseph Campbell, helping us consciously, and thereby much more efficiently, access what horses have been silently teaching riders, heroes, pioneers, leaders, and artists for millennia. Her graceful, intelligent writing is also clear and easy to understand as she makes some normally complex personal development principles surprisingly accessible. Horses are incredible teachers, but they need good translators to bring their wisdom to a wider human audience. Ulrike is a great translator of horse wisdom. Read this book, follow the activities, and answer the poignant, perceptive questions she asks, and I promise you, your life will change. You will become the hero of your own unique story, and you will realize once and for all, that, even when you wander off the main trail and get lost in the woods, you're never alone in this world.
