""When You're A Jet" offers a richly illustrated account of the extraordinary, ordinary life of David Bean, a dancer, husband, father, and entrepreneur. From tap dancing on the streets of Hollywood, to Broadway performances as a young teenager, David grew up in the world of theatre. He appeared in "Peter Pan" on Broadway with Mary Martin and Cyril Ritchard. He danced in the stage production of "West Side Story" and then performed as Tiger in the 1961 film version starring Natalie Wood. The book ends when, six decades later, Stephen Spielberg taps David for a cameo in the remake of "West Side Story." David and his wife Jean, also a dancer, performed over the years in theatre and television shows together. They also built a network of businesses with the passion of a couple on a mission. Hobnobbing with celebrities in New York, London and Hollywood, they were comfortable building every passion into a business. Their success was pure theatre. David lives with his wife of sixty years in upstate New York. His daughter Jennifer is married to a New York City Fireman and they have four children, Bryce, Connor, and twins Jake and Madison"--

Feel what it's like to prepare fighter jets, "smell" the jet fuel, and taste the fighter environment. One Desert Jet Turner is an aviation book introduction to USAF fighter jet culture written by a F-4/F-16 fighter mechanic who shares all. This aviation career book provides information from the same perspective about the USAF Thunderbirds, and accident investigation as observed by the author at Nellis AFB, near both Las Vegas, NV and Area 51. Earl Heron also details the sensational transition from F-16 mechanic to C-130 flight engineer. One Desert Jet Turner is illustrated, but unlike many books about fighters that are primarily pictorial, this work concentrates on the realities behind the images.

Winner of a British Medical Association Book Award A Brain Pickings Best Science Book of the Year Early birds and night owls are born, not made. Sleep patterns may be the most obvious manifestation of the highly individualized biological clocks we inherit, but these clocks also regulate bodily functions from digestion to hormone levels to cognition. Living at odds with our internal timepieces, Till Roenneberg shows, can make us chronically sleep deprived and more likely to smoke, gain weight, feel depressed, fall ill, and fail geometry. By understanding and respecting our internal time, we can live better. “Internal Time is a cautionary tale—actually a series of 24 tales, not coincidentally. Roenneberg ranges widely from the inner workings of biological rhythms to their social implications, illuminating each scientific tutorial with an anecdote inspired by clinical research...Written with grace and good humor, Internal Time is a serious work of science incorporating the latest research in chronobiology...[A] compelling volume.” —A. Roger Ekirch, Wall Street Journal “This is a fascinating introduction to an important topic, which will appeal to anyone who wishes to delve deep into the world of chronobiology, or simply wonders why they struggle to get a good night’s sleep.” —Richard Wiseman, New Scientist

This guide is useful whether you are traveling to Israel with a group or studying about Israel in your home. It is filled with practical information that will enhance your tour experience and deepen your personal knowledge of the Land of the Bible and Bible times. It is designed to help both young and mature Christ-followers to grow in their knowledge of the Scriptures. But it can be used by anyone interested in knowing more about Israel, Christ-follower or not. There are a variety of maps and personal photos in this guide. Many of the maps I created with Accordance Software, which will be consistent throughout the guide. The maps and photos will help you to visualize the topic or land area you are reading about. There is a list of the major sites in Israel, Jordan, and Egypt in alphabetical order. There is also a Quick Bible Reference Guide to assist you in finding more Scriptures about various sites in the Holy Land. Many people who travel to Israel wonder about communicating with the locals on their trip. This is a problem that you will hardly ever experience on a tour. However, to get a feel for the language, there is a section of important words, phrases, and prayers that will be helpful on your trip. I have included a section on terminology--a glossary of common words, names, and events found in the Bible and in history. There are biographies of many important historical and biblical characters. Learning about them in advance will enhance your time in Israel. They will 'come alive' as you see them in the context of their time. Finally, to organize the material, I have divided this guide into three sections: Section I: Getting Ready for the Trip Section II: Getting Acquainted with the Holy Land Section III: Additional Reference Material. I have told the many guests on my tours that with just a ten-day trip to the Holy Land, they will know as much or more Bible History and Geography than most first year Bible College students. I believe this to be true. When you can put the events, places, and characters of the Bible in their context, it really comes alive. You will never read your Bible the same again! Happy traveling, everyone! Author Bio: Pastor Rick was born in Arizona and raised in Southern California.
