Throughout Christian history, the overwhelmingly predominant view of the Bible has been that it is itself the living and active word of God. Previously unpublished, the forty sermons collected here were preached by Austin Farrer during his twenty-five years as chaplain of Trinity College, Oxford (1935-60).
