Words Of Wisdom From My Present Time Perspective

I wrote this book from my experiences in the present time of my life. This book will teach you how to find your voice and help you figure out who you are. You will also learn how to pin point people who are there for you and who are "toxic ticket holder" the ones who are just there for the show. You must teach people how to treat you. By the end of this book you will have the essentials to walk into a what could be a potential stressful situation, and walk away from it with your dignity, your character and more important your voice. Others will know what you will and will not stand for. You will learn how not to look to others for validity... Validation is for parking, not people.You will figure out that you already had all the tools to do this, you just lost your instruction manual somewhere along the path of life.

Retirement is certainly not a new concept. In our Western Societies it the way most individuals plan to spend the last third of their lives. Depending on how financially and emotionally well prepared one is, this period in one's life can provide rich and rewarding experiences. On the other hand, there are dark mysteries in these years that have been largely ignored. However, Society is beginning to learn that for most people, especially but not exclusively men, are psychological unprepared for what they are finding in these latter years in their lives. What's more, the problems that arise when a man retires are totally unexpected, much less easily addressed. In some cases not treating these psychological issues leads to divorce, alcoholism, or in severe cases, suicide. This is why I call this period the Mr. Everest on life. What's worse, the psychological community that has taken on the challenge to protect society from situations like this has all but ignored that there is any problem. I find this both shocking and unconscious able. Up to now the Third Age transition hasn't caused too many severe problems. However, between January 1st 2011 and 2030 seventy million of the Baby Boomer generation (some ten thousand per day) will have turned sixty-five. This will do precisely to the Third Age what the same cohort did to the earlier ages; reframe the dialogue. Retirees, both women and men, must take heed to this issue that will literally change their lives.

This is the second volume in the series of books published under the title ‘Self Empowering Wisdom –Through Deeper Interpretations of Mythologies, Sciences and Spiritual Texts.’ It contains 85 short articles on various spiritual and existential themes aimed at the elevation of human consciousness to a higher level. The purpose of this book is to collate the wisdom, which is increasingly revealing itself in our lives, as the consciousness of Homo Sapiens is being peeled open like the opening of a bud into a fragrant flower or the metamorphosis of the pupae into a lovely butterfly. This is an ongoing journey of human consciousness ascending through the wisdom of the ancients which was enclosed in mythological narrations, then through the deep insight of spiritual masters more explicitly expressed in sacred texts and now, in the present age, through scientific discoveries unravelling the cosmic dimension and the nature of our existence. The content of each article is to bring to light the interconnectivity so that the esoteric and mystical dimensions of mythologies and scriptures are made easy for grasping through current knowledge in the area of sciences, psychology and arts. I am sure that this book will be an empowering tool for all seekers as to the true purpose of our creation and the multiverse in which we live.

The French philosopher Emmanuel Levinas (1906–95) was one of the most original Jewish thinkers of the twentieth century. This book interprets the Hebrew Bible through the lens of Levinas's religious philosophy. Richard I. Sugarman examines the Pentateuch using a phenomenological approach, drawing on both Levinas's philosophical and Jewish writings. Sugarman puts Levinas in conversation with biblical commentators both classical and modern, including Rashi, Maimonides, Sforno, Hirsch, and Soloveitchik. He particularly highlights Levinas's work on the Talmud and the Holocaust. Levinas's reading is situated against the background of a renewed understanding of such phenomena as covenant, promise, different modalities of time, and justice.
