365 Days Of Praise Thanksgiving Assurance Of God S Promises Volume 4

This is volume 4 of 365 days devotional journal of praise, thanksgiving, and assurance of the promises of God, covering October to December. Each day comes with a distinct verse on praise; easy to commit to memory and hidden in some are God’s promises. The scripture references are from the New King James Version (NKJV) unless otherwise stated. It is presented in such a way that everyone, from the least to the greatest, can benefit. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:46-47 The early church had a culture of consistency. Their faith was a day-to-day reality, not a once-a-week church service. Despite difficulties, oppositions, challenges, persecutions, ridicules, they continued intensely serving the Lord, day after day in the teachings of the Apostles, in fellowship, in breaking bread, in prayers, and in praising the Lord. They were a unified church; doing the same thing and with much gladness. No wonder the Lord magnified and multiplied the church daily. A unified and consistent church magnifies and multiplies. Increase is a product of unified consistency. When the church is united in purpose, we will see tremendous growth. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises (Greek: areté – virtue, excellencies) of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9 God saves, calls, and chooses us to show forth His excellencies. We are made to praise. Daily practice produces daily results. If we want to see God’s move, increase, growth, every day of our lives and in the church, then we have to daily study the Word, fellowship, pray, and praise.

Volume 3 concludes the passages in the Old Testament. We look at the last portions of the Psalms to the book of Habakkuk. One thing stands out, ‘We are in constant warfare and praise is your weapon to win the battle.’ Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishments on the peoples; To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute on them the written judgment — This honor have all His saints. Praise the Lord! Psalms 149:6-9 O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens! Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger. Psalms 8:1-2 The Christian life is one of battle, whether or not we are aware of it. The devil doesn’t like the idea that you are a Christian and will do everything possible to fight against you. But thanks be to God, He has given us tools that aren’t physical weapons, but produces physical results, for we wage war not against flesh and blood, but spiritual forces in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12), and so the weapons we use in our battles aren’t the weapons of the world but God’s powerful weapons to pull down every stronghold (2 Corinthians 10:4). Some of our weapons are prayer, the word of God (Eph 6:17; Heb 4:12), and praise. Ephesians 6:13-18 encourages us on the need to be prepared for battle, being strong in the Lord and His mighty power, and putting on the full armor of God. In your mouth is strength. As you speak of the works of the Lord, you silence the enemy. Teach your Children to praise the Lord, to shame the devil. In the days of Nehemiah, the workers had both tools to build and swords for battle (Nehemiah 4:17-18). We must employ both tools (the word of God and praise) in our time. Countries underwent lockdown and fear crippled many for an expected second wave and the hope for vaccines. In this time of uncertainty, where everything seems to go contrary, and wickedness abound on the earth, praise is that which can provoke the hand of God. Most of the things happening in the world today are prophecies, that must be fulfilled as this age ends. Our attitude should be one of praise and thanksgiving, knowing that God is in control, and His hand is at work to fulfill all his purposes concerning the earth. All the promises of God find complete fulfillment in Jesus Christ. In volume 2, we continue to look through the book of Psalms. We see David, Asaph, and the sons of Korah praising the Lord, even in their desperate moments, falling back on God’s love and His promises. In this period of uncertainties, calamities, pain, fear, despair, we ought to give God thanks and always fall back on His love. He will show up in those situations when we give thanks; for we receive with thanksgiving. Let His love be the anchor for your soul; your confidence in His promises. If you have not experienced this love, I would like you to have a taste of it. It all starts with Jesus. He’s God’s love in action (John 3:16).
