Published on the occasion of the Nordic Art Association?s seventy-fifth anniversary, this publication is initiated and produced by the Swedish section, tracing some of the association?s activities in the entire region through the years. The book is an examination and a celebration of a visual art organisation in the Nordic region aimed at creating networks between artists since 1945. Through comparative and integrated case studies, this book demonstrates how aesthetics becomes politics in cultural policy. Contributors from Norway, Sweden and the UK analyse exactly what happens when art is considered relevant for societal development, at both a practical and theoretical level. Cultural policy is seen here as a mechanism for translating values, that through organized and practical aesthetical judgement lend different forms of agency to the arts. What happens when aesthetical value is reinterpreted as political value? What kinds of negotiations take place at a cultural policy ground level when values are translated and reinterpreted? By addressing these questions, the editors present an original collection that effectively centralises and investigates the role of aesthetics in cultural policy research.

Digging into her late husband’s tool shed, and her own secret drawer of vices, Margareta introduces an element of fun to a potentially daunting task. Along the way readers get a glimpse into her life in Sweden, and also become more comfortable with the idea of letting go.

The project identified good Nordic management practices by analysing Nordic research on management, working conditions, and productivity. The project identified 2760 publications combining these topics and analysed in detail 38 core publications combining all three topics. The main findings were: 1. Nordic research that combine all three topics is limited in extend but broad in content and therefore fragmented 2. Values related to cooperation and participation permeated the publications, which sets them apart from EU and US publications. 3. The core publications identified positive relations between management practices, working conditions and workplace performance 4. Positive management practices are characterised by dialogue and cooperation between managers and subordinates. The research was conducted in 2012-2014 at Aalborg University, SINTEF, VTT, and Karlstad University.
