The Diamond's Journey begins in California in 2005, when a woman receives a diamond ring as part of an inheritance. She is the fourth person she knows of to have worn the ring. Upon discovering the ring is over 100 years old, she realizes there must have been others who had the opportunity to wear the ring as well. This launches the story of how and where the diamonds were discovered, the trader who obtained them, their journey to France, only to be sold in their raw state to an American collector, who re-sells them to the famed JP Morgan, who gives them as a bonus to a young protégé, who has them cut and polished in the new 'ideal cut' in order to propose to his future bride. The ring is then left in a drawer and forgotten until it is found again and used to negotiate freedom, as a gift for saving a life, bartered for food, presented as a gift, and re-used as an engagement ring. It is gifted in appreciation, and passed down from a mother to a daughter, and then a daughter-in-law.

Esther Supernault put her life on the line for her beliefs. In Blue Diamond Journey, she shares her secret gift of insight and guidance from the world of spirit. Born of a Celtic and Native American heritage of seers, she narrates how she received incredibly detailed, sometimes humorous messages from her dreams, visions, and meditations—messages that she then validated with solid medical research. Day by day she was guided to specific foods, helpers, therapists, doctors, and books to heal her breast cancer—without chemo or radiation. Every person is part of an interconnected web as vast as this universe, rather than a collection of parts. Our innate, inner soul contains incredible healing wisdoms. Real healing honours this web of interaction—far beyond scientific logic or fact. What causes an illness will also help heal it. All the answers we need to heal are within us, and Esther demonstrates how to listen to those answers. Her journey slowly uncovers a rare diamond in the rough—the dawning evolution of a seer, visionary, and wisdom keeper. With her gifted, gentle healing messages, Esther weaves a marvelous, magical, true tale in Blue Diamond Journey.

In 2000, Tom Zoellner purchased a diamond engagement ring and proposed. His girlfriend said, "yes" and then, suddenly, walked out of his life making Tom the owner of a used engagement ring. Instead of hitting the self-help shelves of his local bookstore, he hit the road travelling to diamond mines in Africa, Canada, India, Brazil and Russia to discover the true worth of this shining gem. He travelled to Japan to understand how diamonds were linked with engagements and delved into the history of our own American romance with the diamond ring. He gained entry to DeBeers, the London diamond merchants. He visited shopping mall jewellers with starry-eyed couples. Through all of his travels, he searched for an answer to the question "How has one stone created empires, ruined lives, inspired lust and emptied wallets throughout history?" A diamond version of Susan Orleans's The Orchid Thief, Tom Zoellner's The Heartless Stone is a journey to the cold heart of the world's most unyielding gem.
