A Time and A Season is about a Christian woman, Deb, whose forty year marriage falls apart. During a mid-life crisis her husband. Randy, has an affair with a much younger woman. Randy moves in with his girlfriend, Lenora, and divorces Deb. Deb goes through the whole gambit of hurt and suffering, but she feels led to fight spiritually for Randy's salvation and restoration. Throughout the novel, Deb walks by faith and though she is brokenhearted, life goes on even for her. She continues her Christian ministry, all the while believing that God will bring Randy to repentance and restore their marriage. A Time & A Season by Princess Ann Frieda is a collection of personal poems written at different times and places, talking about different seasons of life which come and go. They are an expression of what goes on throughout the calendar year rotating the four seasons, winter, spring, summer and fall. Some are short poems, while others are longer, expressing deep rooted feelings, conviction and interpretations of circumstances surrounding her. Also these are cycles of life rotating at different times, deaths, births, weddings, graduations. Other times are fixed like Dec 25th, Feb 14th 4th of July, New Years Eve.

The Complete Rags of Time: A Season in Prison (Parts 1 and 2) publishes for the first time all the prison narrative I wrote in the six-month period (January 1971–June 1971) after my release from Federal Prison in November 1970. Rags of Time: A Season in Prison (Beacon, 1972) was only part 1 of the narrative. It was published because it was complete in itself, and Beacon wanted it out as quickly as possible. Beacon had just published, in book form for the first time, The Pentagon Papers, and desired, I think, a more human face to put on their antiwar efforts. I think too they hoped I would promote both books on tour. I disappointed them in that effort. I was not ready for a book tour and would not participate in such a venture. The manuscript has gathered dust over the decades, for at the time, I held out hope that Beacon would publish it. But in the pre-Watergate days, when Rags was published, mainstream reviewers would not pick it up. It did receive some positive reviews in alternative press venues, had a wide library circulation, here and in Canada, and was taught in college and university courses on both coasts. Before I too turn to dust, I feel it necessary, not only to complete the record, but to complete the story of my friends, fellow prisoners of war, who took their stand against the war to prison. Now, for all the victims of our war without end, NSA surveillance, the fascist Homeland Security apparatus, and the unconscionable strip searches of the rights and bodies of old and young, I feel the need to throw yet another book to the barricade.

A retired pastor with a sound mind but a failing body has been forced to move in with his daughter following the death of his wife. Struggling to come to terms with his loss, he spends the first month there in an emotional freefall. Desperate to find something that will check his descent, his daughter, Emma, suggests he finish writing a commentary on Ecclesiastes he had begun years before. She enlists her son, Chris, to help his grandfather with the project. The daughter and son are each experiencing loss as well. Emma is facing the end of her marriage and her fears of being alone. Chris has suffered a loss of faith and has dropped out of seminary and moved home to regroup. Work on the book creates a space where grandfather and grandson reconnect as they discuss and debate the meaning of this deep and complex book of the Bible. The grandfather wants to write about Ecclesiastes unblinking look at life in a broken world. His grandson believes Ecclesiastes represents the story of someone who has suffered a loss of faith like himself. Eventually Emma joins in the discussions and finds in them a way to face her own issues. Together they begin to fashion new lives while unraveling the mysteries of this enigmatic book of the Bible.
