The combination of accurate anatomical illustrations with 156 state-of-the-art CT and MR images enhances the book's clinical utility. The edition has been revised and expanded to cover parts of the body that were not included in the first edition (eg limbs; coronal and saggittal views of the head and neck).

Advances in imaging technology have led to the frequent use of computed tomography and the resultant need to interpret its results with accuracy. Essential to this is a conceptual understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and an appreciation of the spatial relationships of tissues and organs within the body.
