Cuidados de Salud Avanzados es una colección de monografías dirigidas a profesionales de la salud y estudiantes de posgrado, máster y doctorado, dentro del ámbito de las ciencias de la salud. Su objetivo es ampliar los conocimientos básicos adquiridos durante el grado, proporcionando contenidos avanzados en cada una de las materias tratadas. Su orientación recoge las cuatro funciones que la Organización Mundial de la Salud otorga a las profesiones sanitarias: asistencial, docente, investigadora y gestora. Todas las monografías han sido escritas por autores de reconocido prestigio en su ámbito, que han constituido equipos de trabajo con expertos en el área. Con esta obra se pretende que el profesional entienda e integre, en la investigación y en la práctica, los aspectos psicosociales, mejorando así su competencia para identificar las necesidades del ser humano relacionadas con aspectos psicosociales, y usar adecuadamente las habilidades comunicativas y relacionales y dar apoyo emocional en cualquier etapa y situación de pérdida de salud y de sufrimiento, de manera que las personas y sus cuidadores expresen sus preocupaciones y sus intereses y puedan responder adecuadamente y con libertad. Los capítulos parten de los fundamentos teóricos sobre el cuidado para pasar a información detallada sobre el conocimiento más actualizado en la materia. A su vez, cada capítulo presenta las definiciones y las características conceptuales del tema, y también el estado y las teorías explicativas que lo justifican. Asimismo, se abordan las intervenciones más innovadoras y se plantean nuevas propuestas de actuación.

The EUROHIS project has focused on the comparability of health surveys and has uncovered some problems that arise when aiming to compare data from different countries. Similar problems of cross-cultural comparability also arise when comparing data from other sources, such as health registers, and are just as complex and difficult to tackle. One of the main advantages of health surveys, however, is the relatively low cost and time involved in adapting them according to the needs of health policy-makers. This work shows that the output from the EUROHIS project provides common instruments for the measurement of eight health indicators. The development of these instruments has required careful consideration of relevant common concepts and how these should be defined and operationalized. The instruments are freely available for use by all countries, with the aim of enhancing national health information systems and facilitating cross-national comparisons of health data.

This is the first in-depth guide to global community psychology research and practice, history and development, theories and innovations, presented in one field-defining volume.
