In my darkest hour, at rock bottom, when all I had ever loved was lost, everything I’ve ever had has been stripped from me, all alone naked with nothing but solitude. At my cross roads where there can only be two outcomes, to rise from the depths of darkness or be broken by it. In my most desperate hour while stumbling like a blind man not able to see his path, tripping over things as I stagger and crawl, not knowing which way is forward, with no light to guide me, I reflected on my past and all its events and circumstances, looking at every detail and what I had leant from it in search of answers to find the strength to keep on going and in that search I found knowledge and wisdom. This book is my path from the clutches of hell into the kingdom of heaven, I needed a miracle and in this book I found one. Army of Christ is my heart and soul poured onto paper, I needed to understand my past in order to understand my present, 90% of solving a problem is being able to recognize it, my situation was infinite in knowledge and to understand it required more than knowledge, it required faith, and through faith I found seventeen steps to eternity. Every event in my life up to this point had been preparing me for this fight, giving me the tools to battle my way through this psychological and spiritual war that lay before me. This book is the story of the Phoenix rising from the ashes to lay claim to life and his right to live it, every day from this day on will be beautiful with blue skies, green trees, children playing and a love and appreciation for everything good in the universe, for I found something on my journey that can never be taken from me “the God within myself”.

What does it mean to be a conqueror in Christ's army? In fact, the question really is, what does it mean to be not only a conqueror, but more than a conqueror and good soldier in Christ's ranks? Oakes, in this wonderful work on answering that question, dives deep into Paul’s statement in Romans 8:37, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” The truth proclaimed by Oakes is that there is a “more than ordinary triumph” over all those enemies that oppose themselves against the progress and advancement of a Christian in his way to the fruition of the sweet fruits of the everlasting love of God in Jesus Christ. That all true believers have a transcendent, and incomparably glorious conquest and victory in all their severe engagements with the enemies of their peace and happiness, through the love of God in Christ Jesus. Every true believer is a soldier, and engaged in a warfare. Every true believer has a constant fighting work before God, and there is no end of his war in this world, not any time in which he can stop fighting. Yet, a true believer is never totally and absolutely conquered in any engagement with the enemies that war against him. Every true believer manages a successful war, and is sure of a conquest. A believer’s victory and conquest are incomparably glorious. Every believer obtains this glorious victory and conquest through the Lord Jesus Christ. The love of God in Christ is the absolute first cause of those victorious proceedings, and this infallible conquest of believers. These believers are the greatest soldiers who have ever lived, and are comforted in their fight by the blessings of Almighty God through Christ. All believers must know and consider that they are soldiers in Christ’s army, and have a fighting work, a warfare, before them until they reach heaven. They must, as faithful soldiers, improve their skill in fighting, and harness the spiritual power of the everlasting Gospel of Jesus for their victory. We wait, and pray, and look, and long for that glorious day, when our warfare shall be ended, and we shall go out of the field victorious, and triumphant, as absolute conquerors. This work is not a scan or facsimile, has been carefully transcribed by hand being made easy to read in modern English, and has an active table of contents for electronic versions.

The Raid that Rescued Us. The Mission that Defines Our Lives. You are trapped behind enemy lines. You feel it every day. Powerful forces want to destroy you and those you love. Completely surrounded, you see no means to escape. Sadly, the Jesus we often picture is too timid to help—more like a daytime talk show host than a dangerous Rescuer. Who would follow—much less risk everything—for such a leader? Get ready to see Jesus like you’ve never seen him before—a battle-scarred Combatant who stared death in the face and won. This is no Sunday-school Jesus, meek and mild. This is the Warrior Christ who has descended from the heavens, defeated the Enemy, and rescued humanity. Now, he calls us to continue his mission and fight for others—our families, our communities, and the world. In Jesus Was an Airborne Ranger, Army Chaplain John McDougall offers an alternative to the soft, gentle caricature of Jesus. Only the Warrior Christ can impact our broken world. And only in following him can you find the life of purpose you’ve always wanted. SUIT UP. It’s time to enter the fight with the first and greatest Airborne Ranger. In 1937, prior to the 1948 inauguration of the World Council of Churches, Karl Barth challenged the churches to engage in 'real strict sober genuine theology' in order that the unity of the church might be visibly realized. At that time The Salvation Army didn't aspire to become formally known as a church, even though it was a founding member of the WCC. Today it is globally known as a social welfare organization, concerned especially to serve the needs of those who find themselves at the margins of society. Less well known is that seventy years after Barth's challenge it has made its peace with the view that it is a church denomination. Accepting Barth's challenge to the churches, and in dialogue with his own ecumenical ecclesiology, the concept of the church as an Army is interrogated, in service to The Salvation Army's developing understanding of its identity, and to the visible unity of God's church.

God is building the body of Christ to be a powerful spiritual army on the earth to carry out his plans in these end-times. It is an army of believers totally sold out to God with undivided devotion and a determination to serve him with all their hearts. They have counted the cost of following Jesus and know that there is nothing greater in life than to do his will on earth. This is the army God is using to build his kingdom and display his glory on the earth. Each believer is chosen and called by God into this army. Question is how many will say yes to the calling. This book gives practical steps of how you can come into a place of intimate relationship with God to know him and trust him so you can surrender your life to him and step into your calling. Each chapter is a building block to build you up into Christ. You'll learn how to become Christlike in your walk and how to live as a citizen of the kingdom of God. You will grow in your knowledge of the freedom you have in Christ so you can take that freedom to others and see lives transformed by the power of God. God will empower each believer in his army to become a mighty warrior to display his mighty power on the earth. If each believer makes the choice to say yes to God's call and purpose for their lives, this could be the greatest time for the body of Christ, and we'll see the glorious church of the Lord Jesus Christ rising up throughout the earth to demonstrate the power and the glory of our risen Savior.
