Have you ever felt that you weren't good enough? Have you ever felt unworthy of love? Have you ever lived your life in a constant state of fear? Was it fear of rejection? Fear of failure? Have you ever wished something would change? Anything? Have you ever felt so confused that you didn't know which way was up? Have you ever deeply wanted to be loved? You are not alone. In this compilation of letters, poems, and speeches, Janice Angela Burt wrestles with all of these feelings and fears. Written during the very difficult transition period of her separation and divorce, Janice holds nothing back. She allows herself, for once, to be truly seen. The topics touched on in this book include, but are not limited to: divorce, loss, sexuality, divinity, transformation, fear, love, heartbreak, betrayal, hypnotherapy, letting go, freedom, desperation, codependency, lack of self worth, authenticity and hope. Her highest hope is that this collection of writings will help someone out there feel not quite so alone and remember how amazing they truly are.

God has equipped us with a map to follow and a light to illuminate our life’s journey toward victory. He encourages us to seek him first before making decisions that could alter or delay the plans he has for us. He teaches us to pray without ceasing and reminds us that evil is always present. Within this body of work are poems and short stories that are designed to uplift and offer hope to others who may find themselves in similar situations. They will give you a glimpse into the lives of individuals who have survived grief, abandonment, betrayal, and abuse. As you become absorbed in the issues of their hearts, you will witness the power of prayer and be encouraged.

What does "redneck" mean? What's going to happen to the southern accent? What makes black southerners laugh? What is "real" country music? These are the kinds of questions that pop up in this collection of notable essays from Southern Cultures, the journal of the Center for the Study of the American South at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Intentionally plural, Southern Cultures was founded in 1993 to present all sides of the American South, from sorority sisters to Pocahontas, from kudzu to the blues. This volume collects 27 essays from the journal's first fifteen years, bringing together some of the most memorable and engaging essays as well as some of those most requested for use in courses. A stellar cast of contributors discusses themes of identity, pride, traditions, changes, conflicts, and stereotypes. Topics range from black migrants in Chicago to Mexican immigrants in North Carolina, from Tennessee wrestlers to Martin Luther King, from the Civil War to contemporary debates about the Confederate flag. Funny and serious, historical and contemporary, the collection offers something new for every South-watcher, with fresh perspectives on enduring debates about the people and cultures of America's most complex region. Bits and Pieces to Help Smooth out the Lumps on Your Life's Journey is a book about finding help as you navigate your path through life and tackle the various issues and situations that arise. At times, the mistakes we make due to trusting ourselves when we lack wisdom will compound our efforts and our problems worsen. No matter how old we are, or how much we think we can handle, we can use a faithful, trustworthy, gentle, kind, loving, stable, wise, confident, forgiving, loyal and understanding God to help us along the way. Family, friends and counselors may be available, but sometimes they don't have the real-life experience behind them to provide the connection we need. After reading the bible and not studying it, I still had unanswered questions. Is there more than one baptism? What is the Trinity? What is salvation and what does that mean for me? Who and what are angels? What is prayer about and how do we get results? Who is wise counsel? How does confessing the Word of God affect our spiritual path? Who is Satan and so much more. Through the years, I have found these answers through His Word by studying it from pastors, teachers, bible studies, and getting results. I now have more peace, joy, love, strength, faith and confidence in my choices. Through Bits and Pieces, my personal journey has become remarkably easy and worry free as I have found the Savior who supplies my need graciously as I become stronger in Him. Bits and Pieces is written from my heart and soul and by God's Grace, with the simple desire to help others. Here you can find the support to grow strong, prosper, and free yourself from most havoc, failures, illnesses, and unhealthy relationships. Lighten your sorrows, grief, loss and enjoy a smoother journey. Once you are strengthened, strengthen your brother or sister.
