In 2012, prompted by the spirit of adventure, Ogbonnaya Kanu set off on his first unaccompanied and longest biking tour, with his faithful 2010 BMW R1200GS, codenamed Blanks, to ride from Lagos, Africa, to Europe and back. Characterized by interesting food stops, peculiar border crossings, different degrees of culture shock, relationships with nature and her elements, and a rather unusual road obstruction, FD, Breaking Limits: Europe is more than just a guide for the adventurous biker. Beautifully written, FD, Breaking Limits: Europe will take readers into the heart and mind of a man as he travels alone on a road less travelled but with his goal always in sight.

Self-Imposed Limitations are: limits that have been set based on the way we think about ourselves or our surroundings. They are usually thoughts of being inferior, inadequate, or unprepared. They are thoughts that lead to feelings of intimidation, fear, fear of rejection, fear of failure, and insecurities. They are thoughts and feelings that once brought down reveal that the basis for them was false and unfounded.Breaking The Limits asks you to stop setting self-imposed limitations for yourself and start believing in what you can achieve through the power of five time tested codes. These five codes have been used by successful millionaires throughout time to give them the life they wanted. Are you so wrapped up in day-to-day life that you stop paying attention to WHY you're feeling the way you do? Something goes wrong and you blame other people. The key to getting back on the right track is simple: break the limits of inferiority and inadequacy by focusing inward, on what it would feel like to have your good life right now.William Capers reveals how to invite the life you want into your presence you by focusing on why. Allow yourself to start believing in what you can accomplish instead of what you can't and cut down on those self-imposed limitations in your life now. Follow William's time tested codes and soon you'll be attracting the things you really want."To be great, you must keep great company! Trash makes more trash, but steel sharpens steel!"--from the book

Liminality has the potential to be a leading paradigm for understanding transformation in a globalizing world. As a fundamental human experience, liminality transmits cultural practices, codes, rituals, and meanings in situations that fall between defined structures and have uncertain outcomes. Based on case studies of some of the most important crises in history, society, and politics, this volume explores the methodological range and applicability of the concept to a variety of concrete social and political problems.

The science and technology of coastal and ocean engineering are closely related to harbour and fishery engineering, because they share a common basic knowledge. However, whereas various publications of coastal engineering, harbour engineering, and ocean engineering have described just the knowledge in their own respective fields, an interrelated and systematic presentation linking them together has yet to be attempted. This book is the first attempt to systematically combine the fields of coastal, ocean, harbour, and fishery engineering from an engineering viewpoint backed by hydrodynamics. Understanding the interaction of waves with structures and sediment, and predicting the associated responses of interest, underlie nearly every problem in coastal and ocean engineering. This is precisely the goal of this book. Although primarily intended for use as a special textbook for graduate students and senior practising engineers, it is hoped that this book will also serve as a useful reference and assist in the further development of this field. With these objectives in mind, each chapter deals with important problems to be solved in the near future. The references included in each chapter should aid students and practising engineers in further broadening their knowledge. This book is the English translation of the original Japanese version published in May, 1991, commemorating the author's retirement from Osaka University. ``Elsevier will be named copyright holder of the English translated publication of the Work. Taking an active stand in today's conservative educational climate can be a risky business. Given both the expectations of the profession and the challenge of participation in social justice activism, how do educator activists manage the often competing demands of professional and activist commitments? Activist Educators offers a view into the big picture of assertive idealistic professionals’ lives by presenting rich qualitative data on the impetus behind educators’ activism and the strategies they used to push limits in fighting for a cause. Chapters follow the stories of educator activists as they take on problems in schools, including sexual harassment, sexism, racism, reproductive rights, and GLBT rights. The research in Activist Educators contributes to an understanding of professional and personal motivations for educators’ activism, ultimately offering a significant contribution to aspiring teachers who need to know that education careers and social justice activist causes need not be mutually exclusive pursuits.
