The five-volume set LNCS 3980-3984 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the International Conference on Computational Science and Its Applications, ICCSA 2006, held in Glasgow, UK in May 2006.The five volumes present a total of 664 papers selected from over 2300 submissions. Cooperative, collaborating autonomous systems are at the forefront of research efforts in numerous disciplines across the applied sciences.
