It is organized by the faculty of teacher training and education, at the University of Lampung, Indonesia. Bandar Lampung, the capital city of Lampung Province, will be the host of this event. It will be taken place on the 15th — 16th of October 2022. This conference involves keynote speakers from Indonesia, USA, Malaysia, and Australia. It is intended to be a forum to convey specific alternatives and significant breakthroughs in rapid social development. Therefore, this event aims to kindly appeal to scholars, academics, researchers, experts, practitioners, and university students to take part and share outlooks, experiences, research findings, and recent trends of research in the milieu of education. In doing so, it is expected that attendees can gain advanced understanding and insights into offering solutions to problems. The 4th ICOPE 2022 invites and welcomes you to submit your works on various topics related to the Scope of the Conference. All submitted abstracts and papers will undergo a blind peer-review process to ensure their quality, relevance, and originality. After carrying the burden coming from Covid-19 and its dynamic, it tremendously needs to adjust various social aspects, especially from an education perspective. This term covers a broad spectrum concerning numerous dimensions of social life at individual, group, nation-state, regional, and global levels. Therefore, adapting process insists on the seriousness of the global community to cooperate within the unpredictable complexities.

Currently in a state of cultural transition, global society is moving from a literary society to digital one, adopting widespread use of advanced technologies such as the Internet and mobile devices. Digital media has an extraordinary impact on society's formative processes, forcing a pragmatic shift in their management and organization. Digital Literacy: Tools and Methodologies for Information Society strives to define a conceptual framework for understanding social changes produced by digital media and creates a framework within which digital literacy acts as a tool to assist younger generations to interact critically with digital media and their culture, providing scholars, educators, researchers, and practitioners a technological and sociological approach to this cutting-edge topic from an educational perspective.

This book brings together a group of internationally-reputed authors in the field of digital literacy. Their essays explore a diverse range of the concepts, policies and practices of digital literacy, and discuss how digital literacy is related to similar ideas: information literacy, computer literacy, media literacy, functional literacy and digital competence. It is argued that in light of this diversity and complexity, it is useful to think of digital literacies - the plural as well the singular. The first part of the book presents a rich mix of conceptual and policy perspectives; in the second part contributors explore social practices of digital remixing, blogging, online trading and social networking, and consider some legal issues associated with digital media.

This book constitutes the refereed post-conference proceedings of the 7th European Conference on Information Literacy, ECIL 2021, held in online mode in September 2021. The 61 revised papers included in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 192 submissions. The papers are organized in the topical sections on ​information literacy in a post-truth era and news literacy; health literacy; data literacy; digital literacy and digital empowerment; other literacies; information literacy in different contexts; information literacy education in different sectors; information literacy instruction; assessment and evaluation of information literacy; academic integrity, plagiarism and digital piracy; information behaviour; information literacy, libraries and librarians; information literacy in different cultures and countries; information literacy and democracy, citizenship, active participation.

Fifty years after Richard Hoggart's pioneering The Uses of Literacy reshaped the educational response to popular culture, John Hartley extends Hoggart's argument into digital media. Media evolution has made possible the realism of the modern age journalism, the novel and science not to mention mass entertainment on a global scale. In the 21st century, digital tools enable information to be generated faster and in greater profusion than ever before, to the point where its extent and value are literally beyond imagining. Such quantities can only be meaningfully addressed using more digital tools, and thus our relationship to information is fundamentally changed. This situation presents a particular challenge to processes of learning and teaching, and demands a response from both information professionals and educators. Enabling education in a digital environment means not only changing the form in which learning opportunities are offered, but also enabling students to survive and prosper in digitally based learning environments. This collection brings together a global community of educators, educational researchers, librarians and IT strategists, to consider how learners need to be equipped in an educational environment that is increasingly suffused with digital technology. Traditional notions of literacy need to be challenged, and new literacies, including information literacy and IT literacy, need to be considered as foundation elements for digitally involved learners.
