Ecsm 2019 Proceedings Of The 6th European Conference On Social Media

These proceedings represent the work of contributors to the 6th European Conference on Social Media (ECSM 2019), hosted by University of Brighton on 13 - 14 June 2019. The Conference Chair is Prof Wybe Popma and the Programme Chair is Stuart Francis, all from University of Brighton. ECSM is now a well-established event on the academic research calendar and now in its 6th year the key aim remains the opportunity for participants to share ideas and meet the people who hold them. The scope of papers will ensure an interesting two days. The subjects covered illustrate the wide range of topics that fall into this important and ever-growing area of research. The opening keynote presentation is given by Asher Rospigliosi, Brighton Business School, UK, on the subject When Social Media doesn't work. Then an afternoon keynote will be given by Ben Hackett, Vizia Commercial Specialist at Brandwatch, Brighton, UK who will talk about Social Listening into Consumer Research. The second day of the conference will open with an address by Hannah Brookes, from Jellyfish on the topic of Finding voices: the role of users in generating content that works. With an initial submission of 117 abstracts, after the double blind, peer review process there are 37 Academic research papers, 7 PhD research papers, 2 Masters Research papers, 2 non-academic papers and 3 work-in-progress papers published in these Conference Proceedings. These papers represent research from Albania, Australia, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom and The United States of America.

These proceedings represent the work of contributors to the 7th European Conference on Social Media (ECSM 2020), supported by UCLan Cyprus, Larnaca on 2-3 July 2020. The Conference Chair is Dr Christos Karpasitis and the Programme Chair is Mrs Christiana Varda, from the University of Central Lancashire - Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus). ECSM is a relatively new, but well-established event on the academic research calendar. Now, in its 7th year, the key aim remains the opportunity for participants to share ideas and meet. The conference was due to be held at UCLan Cyprus, but unfortunately, due to the global Covid-19 pandemic it was moved online to be held as a virtual event. The scope of papers will ensure an interesting conference. The subjects covered illustrate the wide range of topics that fall into this important and ever-growing area of research.

​This book offers a platform for the analysis of commemorative and archiving practices as they were shaped, expanded, and developed during the Covid-19 lockdown periods in 2020 and the years that followed. By offering an extensive global view of these changes as well as of the continuities that went with them, the book enters a dialogue with what has emerged as an initial response to the pandemic and the ways in which it has affected memory and commemoration. The book aims to critically and empirically engage with this abundance of memory to understand both memorialization of the pandemic and commemoration during the pandemic: what happened then to commemorative practices and rituals around the world? How has the Covid-19 pandemic been archived and remembered? What will remembering it actually entail, and what will it mean in the future? Where did the Covid memory boom come from? Who was behind it, how did it emerge, and in what social configurations did it evolve?

This two-volume set LNCS 12194 and 12195 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Social Computing and Social Media, SCSM 2020, held as part of the 22nd International Conference, HCI International 2020, which was planned to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in July 2020. The conference was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The total of 1439 papers and 238 posters have been accepted for publication in the HCII 2020 proceedings from a total of 6326 submissions. SCSM 2020 includes a total of 93 papers which are organized in topical sections named: Design Issues in Social Computing, Ethics and Misinformation in Social Media, User Behavior and Social Network Analysis, Participation and Collaboration in Online Communities, Social Computing and User Experience, Social Media Marketing and Consumer Experience, Social Computing for Well-Being, Learning, and Entertainment.
