This volume presents the revised and peer reviewed contributions of the "ERP Future 2012" conference held in Salzburg/Austria on November 11th - 12th, 2012​. The conference is a platform for research in ERP systems and closely related topics like business processes, business intelligence, and enterprise information systems in general. The purpose of the 7th International Conference on Enterprise Information Systems (ICEIS) was to bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested in the advances and business applications of information systems. ICEIS focuses on real world applications, therefore authors were asked to highlight the benefits of Information Technology for industry and services. Papers included in the book are the best papers presented at the conference.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 6th International IFIP Working Conference on Research and Practical Issues of Enterprise Information Systems (CONFENIS 2012), held in Ghent, Belgium, during September 19–21, 2012. The theme of the conference was "enterprise information systems of the future –– evolving toward more performance through transparency and agility," mirroring the trend toward more open and more flexible systems. In all, 53 contributions were submitted and after a rigorous review process 10 full papers and 15 short papers were selected for publication in this book. These 25 papers present a well-balanced mix between the traditional social sciences and the novel design science paradigms in enterprise information systems research, and they also include practitioner-oriented and practice-driven contributions. The topics covered fall into three categories: information management in businesses (e.g., enterprise modeling or business process management), information systems from a management perspective (e.g., service innovation, business intelligence, or decision support systems), and ERP offerings and implementations (e.g., software as a service or ERP case studies).

This book contains the collection of full papers accepted at the 11th International Conference on Enterprise Information Systems (ICEIS 2009), organized by the Ins- tute for Systems and Technologies of Information Control and Communication (INSTICC) in cooperation with the Association for Advancement of Artificial Intel- gence (AAAI) and ACM SIGMIS (SIG on Management Information Systems), and technically co-sponsored by the Japanese IEICE SWIM (SIG on Software Interprise Modeling) and the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC). ICEIS 2009 was held in Milan, Italy. This conference has grown to become a - jor point of contact between research scientists, engineers and practitioners in the area of business applications of information systems. This year, five simultaneous tracks were held, covering different aspects related to enterprise computing, including: “- tabases and Information Systems Integration,” “Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support Systems,” “Information Systems Analysis and Specification,” “Software Agents and Internet Computing” and “Human–Computer Interaction”. All tracks describe research work that is often oriented toward real-world applications and hi- light the benefits of information systems and technology for industry and services, thus making a bridge between academia and enterprise. ICEIS 2009 received 644 paper submissions from 70 countries in all continents; 81 papers were published and presented as full papers, i.e., completed research work (8 pages/30-minute oral presentation). Additional papers accepted at ICEIS, including short papers and posters, were published in the regular conference proceedings.

This book analyzes various aspects of enterprise information systems (EIS), including enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, supply chain management systems, and business process reengineering. It describes the evolution and functions of these systems, focusing on issues related to their implementation and upgrading. Enhanced with pedagogical features, the book can be read by graduate and undergraduate students, as well as senior management and executives involved in the study and evaluation of EIS.
