Epidemiology And Treatment Of Atrial Fibrillation

This book addresses the problem of atrial fibrillation in terms of epidemiology, risk factors, as well as treatment, including medical treatment using drugs, catheter ablation, and cardiac surgery. Most of the authors of the book are arrhythmologists, and chapters on atrial fibrillation are based on their experience in the cardiology clinic or the operating room.

With over 6 million patients affected only in the United States, atrial fibrillation (AF) is a major health problem with profound effects on both the individual patient and society at large. In this report, the IOM makes several recommendations for improving SSA's capacity to determine disability benefits more quickly and efficiently using the Listings.
