A complete short-title catalogue of all books published in the French language before 1601. Based on twelve years of investigations in libraries in France and other countries, FB lists over 52,000 bibliographically distinct items in over 1,600 different libraries.

Cet ouvrage étudie l'origine et l'évolution de près de 1200 termes de la langue française. Des expressions, proverbes et citations permettent de situer ces termes en contexte. Quelques encarts en couleurs apportent des précisions sur les termes ou présentent les mots dérivés ou reliés à un domaine particulier.
